And we are able to be aware of change. That is the knowledge that gives us the power, not control, over the unknown!

Sad to say. But I do not think this has been mentioned. From my own experience. A good line of bullshit will get you farther (in the aspect of worldly views) than either of the two![/b]

So true , thats what some peoples jobs are based on , talking crap . But i say if you can make a living by doing that then good luck to you . If i could talk crap to get ahead i would too but unfortunately having a conscience has its drawbacks , one of which is that its hard just to make up crap

The reason that knowledge is not power is in part to tot the human structure of the environmental laws which are created out of the universal and subdivide divisions of or preconditioned egoic entity. Studies from many credible sources have charted out reasons similar to this to create an anomaly to interchange knowledge verse that of power.

Sooo. How was that?I made every word up out of thin air.
Am I a good bullshitter or did I not pass the BS test

The problem is you over did it. If the person doesn't read it, then it doesn't matter what you say.

      That's BS!
Actually I thought I kept it short for that reason.

I don't think so. Sure, "BSing" is a very good way to win arguments agains morons, but when you are talking to someone who knows what they are talking about at all, well, it's just a stupid thing to do.

A good bullshitter knows who & when to bullshit.
It also comes down to credibility. Had that been posted in the philosophy section by Kimmpossible or Bradybaker, Perigrenus, would it would have been thought that I copied and pasted that? When in fact via the internet we have know idea who is really doing the talking.

Its not always about trying to confuse them though, some of the best BS is something that is easy to understand. How else do you get them to agree with you?

You can also use it against people who kind of know what their talking about as well. Infact, knowing a little might be worse than knowing nothing.

Yes, we might not know who is behind the writting on an internet level, but the question here is not if someone gets away with good BS, it rellys on the credibility of others, the analitical level of a person, wich doesn't necesary goes with knowledge, a person that is a very analitical, couldn't be BSed even if they didn't know what they are being told; there is also the fact that with time you get to understand more the reasons behind a regular poster, so it comes very close, to the actually "knowing of a person".
      Here and there...

On Bullshit. : I've been meaning to buy that book ever since the author, a professor of Philosophy, I believe, appeared on the Daily Show.

"Bullshitting, as he notes, is not exactly lying, and bullshit remains bullshit whether it's true or false. The difference lies in the bullshitter's complete disregard for whether what he's saying corresponds to facts in the physical world: he 'does not reject the authority of the truth, as the liar does, and oppose himself to it. He pays no attention to it at all. By virtue of this, bullshit is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are.'" (quoted from the little Amazon synopsis)

Bullshit is the basis of politics and commerce and is most effective not necessarily on the uninformed, but on the apathetic and uninterested. Someone who is uninformed can always look up the facts themselves; someone who simply doesn't care will be swayed by the emotional content of the bullshit and the confidence with which it is delivered. This is when they are most willing to kick back and take the easiest way out - that being, of course, to listen to whomever is talking the loudest and with the most confidence, appealing to emotional needs at the expense of actual topical discourse because, hey, topical discourse requires thought and we just don’t have time for that, thank you very much, just spoon feed it to me and I won’t even complain if it tastes a little off. Unfortunately for the future of the world, the uninterested compose most of the public and many within the political power structure itself.

That's why bullshit is so powerful - it's more effective that the truthful dissemination of knowledge to the majority of people on this planet. And in this age of global communication, one line of bullshit can circle the planet a dozen times before someone thinks to catch it by setting up a fan.
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”
      - Voltaire (1694 - 1778)

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems.
      - Mohandas Gandhi

Thanks for backing up exactly what I was trying to relay. I
Think one of the key words you used was confidence. Confidence kind of goes hand in hand with bullshit. It even comes across that way over the net. You post things as fact, or you strecth the truth. Bend the truths, just enough....it is an art.

I have a good example ataraxis. You adamantly proclaimed that cold water would freeze faster than hot. Why. Your preconceived thoughts? You thought I was bullshitting? Why. Think about that rebuttle.
You obviously did not take the time to promote such a statement as "why do I even Post?", When you were wrong.
I don't even know If I am right. Or if they are right. You are a subject of bullshit, just admit it!

Brady is a very good example. He being assumed smarter than myself. Which I think he is. However he portrays his expressions adamantly and with confidence, clarity and a wider vocabulary. He Could very well be backing these thoughts out of a text book.
You make a name for yourself it sticks.
