Yep. But even when I'm sober, I think those thoughts.
The universe is expanding with a tremendous speed, with a huge amount of planets and galaxies. No way we are the only planet with life.

Looking in a mirror. But really looking at me and realizing that that is me. That it is all I ever was and that I'm just another animal. That that at which I look at is my face and all those thoughts that I have emerge from whom I'm seeing. That gives me goosebumps when I do it.[/b]
Woah, I've actually thought the exact same thing. However, in my case, I usually just think about how this is me and always will be me. How I will never know what it's like to be another individual, another individual with individual thoughts, looks, feelings, personalities... it just puzzles me. Makes me wonder what it'd be like to be in someone else's shoes. Me and my friend have actually talked about this before, and when we WERE talking, I just brought up the fact how weird it was that he sees me every day, and it's completely normal to him to see me walking around, and talking, etc. and vise versa. Well, I just find it mindblowing about how I look to other people, how I'm doing my own things and controlling my own life and I'm my own individual and will always be me. I've probably confused 99% of you, but it was worth it.

I'm also amazed at how people on TV really DO have their own lives. Tom Cruise could be taking a crap right now for all we know.

Actually this Topic, ''Odd MindBlowing thoughts'' brought back an old old memory of the most MindBlowing thoughts I once had.

A proof that there ARE, beyond any doubt, Alien Intelligent Lifeforms present in the Universe. It gets wacky-er still though...
So Space is...Infinite right? Well with Infinite Space there'll be Infinite solar systems and planets and, undoubtably, infinite chances that there IS life out there besides us. More chance than a 100%, because of that Infinity of Possibilities, and thus certain.

How the wackiest thing is that, with Infinite Space and the Infinite Possibilities it yields, even the sillyest weirdest beings you can Imagine will most certainly live on some planet somewhere..eventually. A planet where people are Egg shaped with only arms and legs sticking out? Sure. It exists...somewhere in infinity. There's more than a 100% chance to find it so let's say that's certain?

The Planet of the dogs with tentacles out of their arses? No doubt in Mind it doesn't actually exist Somewhere in infinity. get my point?

I was thinking that one day and it really wacked my Mind. What's say you people?

      Haha, that's another good thought.

One other I've had is how extensive our family trees must be. Imagine all the uncles, aunts, cousins, grandpas and grandmas you've had. Now imagine their uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandpas and grandma's they've had. It just keeps going on and on and on.

      shit. that's massive.
another one for me is imagine the future, going to museums to see the last remaining trees on earth. living in a oxygenated bubble of a city.

Infinity is a mindblowing thought. At first it sounds simple enough, it just goes on forever. But it's not that simple. Imagine that you have a row of infinite blue boxes, except one is red. If you pick a box at random, what are the chances of picking the red one? If you had a hundred red boxes, or a million, or a googol, but still infinite blue boxes, how would that change the probability? Let's say in our row of boxes, we have red and blue boxes every other box. What I mean is, you have a blue, then a red, then a blue, then a red..., forever. What are your chances of picking a red? 1 in 2 right? What if every third box is red? One in 3? If every millionth box is red? But you have infinitely many of both blue and red. Shouldn't that mean that there are equal probabilities? Lets say you start walking at the beginning of the infinite row of boxes with only one red one and infinite blue ones, and you have infinite time to do it. You will eventually find the red one right? Lets say the row is not infinite, and it will take a year to walk through it all. Within the first day, you have a 1/365 chance of seeing the red one. In the first month, a 1/12 chance. But in an infinite row, even if you have infinitely long to walk it, when you actually do find it has to be at a specific point of time. After a day, what are your chances? After a year, an eon? Do your chances improve? If so, how is that possible when they are the same compared to infinity? If not, then how will you ever find the box since the chance of finding it in a googol eons is the same as finding it in the first minute? I think I'm really confusing right now, but I think you get the picture.

Actually it's weirder than that. If that's true then there's exact copies of this world. There's infinitely many copies of this exact world. There's infinitely many mes typing this right now. There's infinitely many yous reading this. There's also infinitely many worlds where the most bizarre things are happening to us. Right now, there's a world where we are in The Matrix just like the movies. How do we know that we don't live in that world?

We don't and never will. Unless we become some sort of God.

And nice thought, I have another one to add shortly.

Actually the "big bang" (or whatever their calling it now) only made so much matter, so there isn't "infinite possibilities"
I think you were confusing the infinite distances of the universe with the actual matter contained within it

(although I did once see a science channel miniseries on infinite parallel dimensions )

The fact that we'll never know what our parents were truly like when they were younger and up to no good. I mean, you can hear stories about them, you can hear about what they were like, but it doesn't give you the satisfaction of knowing their younger, immature self. What I would give to meet my dad when he was 16.

Here's an Idea I think it pretty mind-blowing.

Pretty much everything around us has a smaller part. Out bodies have cells and stuff, my desk is made up of atoms, etcs. What if our world/universe was just a extremely smaller part of something much bigger, made of an entire other being or something.

You know how atoms have the Nucleus, then the Electrons and all orbiting around it, well..look at the solar system.

My uncle could explain much better, as he's the one he came up with the idea, but it still pretty interesting.

Sometimes I am just like: 'Wow wtf, why do we even all exist?"

Even if you are religious, there is no Real reason why the universe exists. It just does, and 'just does' is totally against (my) logic. :0

      Another Space thought:

The space is Infinite OUTWARDS, but therefor Also inwards.
Things can never get smaller to the point they disappear: They can always be smaller still.

      Think of this:
You could place your 2 indexfingers 1 CM apart and start moving them towards eachother very slowly. As I have figured it out you can INFINITELY move your fingers closer towards eachother without them EVER touching eachother.

So the distance bewteen the 2 fingers is 1 CM? Move them closer to eachother half the distance: 0,5CM apart, CLOSER! only 0,05 CM apart, CLOSER STILL! okay 0,005 CM apart....

Can you imagine there's just no end to it?
You can move 2 objects closer to eachother by repeatedly moving the 2 objects half the distance they're apart closer towards eachother: Do it into eternity, they will simply never make contact.

This means that there is Infinity in the smallest things. The space between your Toes hold Infinity and possibly Infinite amounts of MicroCosmos Universes and other worlds and lifeforms.

Maybe our Solar system, which we consider to be a Huge place, in turn is only located in another MicroCosmos in some gigantic 3 Legged Alien Dog's Nose. And the 3 Legged Dog's planet and Solar System could be located within another MicroCosmos inside the Center of a Sunflower growing on a Planet in a Universe of a yet larger macroCosmos. It never ends as I see it.
      Space a Relative thing.

I know this is at a much shallower perspective, but it blows my mind every time I think about moving. Like, when you walk, it's so automatic. You just think you wanna go there and you go, you don't actually have to focus on the muscles or anything. It just is trippy thinking about all the processes going on you're controlling on this extra high level.

actually there is an end, because your fingers will eventually touch, but i know what you are getting at. Even if the fingers and .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000001 cm apart you can still go closer.

      Pretty mind blowing

It is definitly wierd how we move, All we are is muscles that contract and releash and that is how we get around

Something very mind blowing is the fact that an explosion in a void can result in a spark that burns out and forms a primordial ooze that has goo in it that grows into things that invent computers and have conversations like this one.

I would have started with the existence of consciousness, but Oneironaut beat me to it six pages ago. I have yet to find a solid explanation for how a mind can exist. I am completely stumped on that one. It makes me wonder if the nature of existence itself involves some sort of element of consciousness.

The fact that anything at all exists is extremely mind blowing to me. Nothing can explain it. No matter what you say is the source (not necessarily in a time sequence) of existence, THAT is automatically a form of existence, so any explanation involving a source of existence inevitably contradicts itself. I have thought obsessively about it for years and years, and I still don't have an answer.

If you unravelled all of the blood vessels of an average human body, they would go around the world three times.

Starship sold more records than Jefferson Airplane.

There are more microbes on a human body than there are humans on Earth.

One in five farmers has sex with his animals. (straight from an Ole Miss psychology text book&#33

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are extremely intellectual, shy, neurotic, and sensitive in real life.

Imagine how bad life would suck if the Nazis had been successful in taking over the world. The necessary course for that did not miss reality by very much. It almost happened.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

Without ever touching still. You can, well Obviously , make your 2 fingers touch. But if you want to you can keep moving them closer and closer...and basically never touch because the space in bewteen the 2 objects is Infinite, as is outward space in the Universe.

The MindBlowing thing about it is that, like Outer Space, ''InnerSpace'' (as I've just named it ) Is also Infinite. This means it much Yield the same infinite possibilities on other Worlds and Life Forms and what not. Everything and Anything exists in the Smallest things, Because Eternity and Infinity are Contained in the Smallest things. The things we consider small, due to our own size, may yield the hugest unviverse containing countless solar systems, planets and other lifeforms.

I was actually inspired by this thought from watchinh Men In Black and I saw that Orion's Belt was in the pendant of a kitty's Necklace. After the movie I started thinking further on that thought and came to all that written above But also this theory has popped into my Mind when I was on Mushrooms.

It's amazing how Mushrooms can make you aware of how infinite ad eternal time and space are. And expecially, in the Visual way, they show you that Space really IS a Relative thing.
