      Thumbs down

Do you know what you want? And what is best for you?

      Are they the same?

If you do, do you think others do, for both you and themselves?

      Well?

People know what they want, but eighter their desires are created for them or they adopted them somewhere. People do not truely know what they want, because what is there to want. I believe in evolution, and that leads me to the conclusion there is no real goal in life but the goals evolution gave us in a way.

      Something like that.

EDIT: at the last part, you forgot the option: ...what is 'good'?

There sure is a general context with a "want" you always have (if you know what you want). But I think most of the time it differs from situation to situation in a certain personal buffer .. it also has to do with circumstances and everything ... what you want changes, doesn't it?

I think people think they know what they want, and sometimes it is, but it isn't always what is good.

for example, some thinks they want a bicycle, but they actaully want it to impress the girl down the road, and not the bike itself. And though they cant ride to save there lives, they think, at least at the subconchus level, that it will help them, even though it probably wont.

I want the world to be less materialistic, to be more friendly and trustful. But this seems to be a wishful thinking...

Ah yes, but is that girl down the road what they truely want? Some just want it to show around like a trhropy, or we want it because our hormones (their effects) tell us the girl is hot, but is what our instinct tells us really what we want?

I guess people can want everything. But the wanting of it can hardly ever be called 'logic', only in the reference of evultion and civilisation, but not outside those.

      My Dream Chronicles
is life a predetemined path, do we control our own destiny's or is there something out there greater than all of us? perhaps dreams are insight into our minds, perhaps they are random thoughts, it keeps me up at night.

doesn't sound that cheesy, just old, and I think that is what most people really want, weather they know it or not.

I want to defy every single impossibility in this world. But this itself seems impossible =/ oh well

C'mon, who wouldn't want to be awesome....

Anyway, i think my greatest wish is that people could fight for anything knowing they will certain win. Although that is impossible as well, for as when one side wins, the other loses.

I want success, and more than enough money. Success as in I want to be good at my job and get good pay. Would also like to decently like my job. I just don’t know what job yet… As for ‘Do you know what you want all the time’ definitely yes. Mostly because of jumping right into things… and I’m pretty good at measuring out consequences for my age I think. Don’t really know what you mean for, is it the best for you. I put yes because usually I do things that’s good for future times, like studying for tests. Or you could mean good spiritually and that’s a yes to because I like being the best on the test I studied.

Your wording for the second question confuses me a bit. You mean do you think others think for themselves or know what they want? I am usually hesitate at decisions when it comes to have decide for other people, a little bit more than if I just had to decide for myself. Which I know isn’t really a good thing because a little while ago at school we had a team quiz thing. The team was to decide on an answer. On the last answer I knew it. I was so sure I knew it I wrote it down on our answer sheet. But other kids started saying other things. The vote was against my answer but I was soooo sure of it! But still put down their answer and we lost when we would have won because my answer was right. I think most people would rather go with the majority of people because at least if their wrong a majority is wrong too.

Or the wording for the second question could be do people know if they actually want something. I think not, I heard too many times kids say right before a test ‘I wish I had studied more…” Of course they want a good grade on a test but you have to study. Saying ‘I wish I had studied more’ just reveals that you can’t measure out the input of trying to the output of success. It’s like if a test only counted for 2% of your grade you wouldn’t study for it as much because the input of your trying wouldn’t equal to the output of the grade. Kind of like a huge scale as I see it. But if you were going to be in a really important volleyball competition you would (or should) train more then for a practice game. People might know what they want but not have the drive to, well WANT it.

"There are two types of people in this world, people who think there are two types of people, and people who don't."

I think you can overcome the goals that evolution gives you with logic. For example, people think that having kids will make them happy, but it has been shown that people are more unhappy with each kid that they have, starting with the first. If you realize what your instincts try to make you do and seperate them from what logically is "good' for you, you can be happy(er). Your genes probably don't want you to be happy becuase they want you to keep trying for more and more, but you can ignore them and be free of the rat-race of evolution. If you prevent your genes from controlling you, you have won--they are just using you anyway.
