      Society

I wrote this a few months ago, and I've desided to post it. Please don't take it personally or seriously.

As I sit here and ponder, only one thing comes to mind. What is my purpose in life? I think I’m here to mainly reproduce to insure the survival of my species, but man is different from all the other life on this planet. We have created a difficult and complex society, one in which most people have a hard time dealing with. We have morals and rules from which we must obey and shape our lives around. Because of these rules, we think we are better than everything else, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think rules hinder our ability to evolve and expand. We have very clear boundaries and those boundaries, the ones we made to help ourselves, are holding us back from trying to understand what else there is. By this I mean, we can’t fully understand ourselves if we have a limited freedom.

I am not happy with the way I live my life. I consume too much and give back so little. I hate our society. I try to change my ways, but every time, society brings me back to the evil ways of “our” life. I wish I was a Native American. Totally one with life, a perfect balance. One with all, my being with everything. That is the way we should be living. That is the way I want to live. I am part of nature, I should not try to detach from my essence.

I feel that man should be destroyed. Nature has given all to us, but what have we given to nature? Everything we’ve done to better nature is just to better our way of life. We only think of ourselves. We will be our own death. We are slowly dying as a society. We are not united; we are nowhere close to being one. Nature will not have to wait very long, we will soon be gone. Life will start a new. But when I die, I wish to have my body buried without a casket and a tree planted above me so my soul can live within it. There I shall stand strong and wait for the coming of the rebirth.

No offence and I really am not trying to be rude but I don't think your really trying. If your unhappy with how you live your life, its up to you to change it not society. Saying society forces you to come back is just an excuse. Either you have a very weak will and can not do anything on your own, or you don't believe in what your saying nearly as much as you say.

If you are serious start changing your life, take small steps. Slowly move into what you want to be. Can't change anything being lazy.

Rules are very important in any society, you can't live with other people and do anything you please. If your where free to kill and murder and steal from people life would not be very good. And if you think people harm nature now wait untill its legal to do whatever you want, wouldn't be a tree left on the planet and the water would be undrinkable. Which is why we have rules to stop it.

The less evolved a race is, the more rules it needs. A highly evolved race would not even murder, rape, destroy..thus it would need less rules and laws, society could guide itself. But we humans, we have the potential to get corrupted, so yes, we pretty much need rules

Well we shouldn't be so pessimistic. Human society has already progressed a long way, and we're much better off now then in prehistoric times. True there are definitely lots of faults to the way societies are implemented, but generally its for the better.

still, even though weve progressed is it for the better?
people rely on technology too much
when the electricity goes out basically you dont have sh*t to do. people cant live without cell phones.
cars outnumber people (at least here they do)
      tv zombifies you
dont get me wrong technology is good but if it fails society crumbles right behind it

I hardly ever watch TV, I don't even get a channels on it. I'll put in a DVD once in a while. I mostly read books.

I agree though, there are too many couch potatoes in our society.

Yea I know. I used to spend so much time in front of the television. Now I hardly use it unless its for a movie. Its amazing how you can get addicted to that thing.

And daydreamer you are right. Some people depend on technology too much. Technology saves people's lives but is also abused often by first-world societies who take it for granted. It's a thin line that people walk.

If there was no more internet I think that would suck. Maybe people do rely on it to much but I don't think its a bad thing. Technology makes life a lot easier for a ton of people, and even though some people watch way to much TV, you can learn a ton from that too.

It kind of bugs me when people say technology sucks when medicine we make saves millions of people lives and things like TV allows us to learn stuff likes news within minutes of things happening all the way across the world, and with a click of a button I can learn about almost anything over the internet.

I mean come on would it be all that better if instead we send childen down in coal mines, everyone work 18 hours days just to eat. Can grow 1/5th of the food we do now and take 10 times as many people to work the farm, news can be half a year old before we get it. Average life span could be 35 years. Of course it all depends on how far back you want to go, though overall the farther you go the worse you get.

Oh and I would much rather lose electricity and be bored for a few hours than the weather be a bit colder and starve to death.

Have you guys noticed but how we are the "working generation", so that in times to come society can evolove. Sure it does lack application and reason in some areas but when i see child laughing with a dog in a park or a few mates relaxing at the beach with a campfire...i often think how the technologies and ways of life today could have been without to provide and sustain these relationships.
I mean this wouldnt exist, the internet may fuel rich business people's pockets who in turn fund drug users maybe, but on the contrary we are here doing this, maybe not an equal but surely somehwhat of an opposite reaction.
The balance of society is always changing, but it will find the way, our souls in unison hold the keys to happiness.

May depression change a persons view including mine on the subject matter, anger at society fules hate so often viewing these opposite reactions may provide some sort of equilibrium.

Sorry to dribble on guys, im just at college and bored.

Yea hey we all wouldn't be here talking to each other without technology. This community of diverse people from all around the world wouldn't even exist. And I don't think anyone will disagree that this site is helpful and productive. Technology makes this possible.

im not saying technology sucks, im just talking incoherently since years of drug use have partially fried my brain.
my dad made me work in coalmines for 5 years and we were all so happy to work for our food. its good exerscise
its just wrong to abuse it, to depend your life entirely on it because when it fails your screwed
