Well, it depends. I would consider Satanism, Buddhism, Vedanta Hinduism, Taoism and Confucianism barely faith based, if at all. And if you call them faith based, then in a very different meaning than when speaking about Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Scientology etc.

Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism are definitely classified as religions, as far as I know, while Confucianism is a philosophical system and Satanism is a Left-Hand-Path religion which kind of makes it a mixture. It really depends on the definition that you're using, so we're basically arguing semantics.

I believe in a kind of social karma - although I do not like the word, I know no other term to describe it. It is obvious that the society affects the way we think and feel - and this is what I call social karma. This social karma evolves in steps, and in my opinion it would not have been possible to skip the time of blind faith. It would've been a necessary requirement to have the kind of science-based society that we now have.

And the science age is far from ideal. Most people in the world still suffer, so there is a long way of progress ahead for mankind. I believe that a unification of science with religion will be the next step, next stage in mankind's development.
Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience.
It isn't more complicated that that.
It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is,
without either clinging to it or rejecting it.

I believe that in the age of science all religions are detrimental to society.

Instead of "non-faith-based religions", we should focus on "religion-free faith" (i.e. keep the "personal relationship with deity" component that gives some people an easier time to come to terms with the unknowable, and throw out the dogmatic bs).
