I think people naturally enjoy exploring these idea's, I dont see it as a particularly damaging thing unless it seriously clouds judgement, or becomes an unwavering belief.
I dont think its a case of science vs.. You're probably talking about the type of person that "knows their theory is correct" though, so this might not apply, but i dont see anything wrong with a scientifically minded person exploring the possibility of something like remote viewing or precognition for example.

The problem here is that you are condemning people who are essentially kids for behaving like children. Doesn't that seem a bit off to you? Isn't it only natural for a child to want to believe fantasies? Especially a child who now has access to what amounts to a controllable virtual reality world in which they can vividly imagine that all these fantasies are in fact true. This is not a problem to me. What is a problem is adolescents who think themselves so wise that they feel the need to go around stomping on younger children's dreams; as if being a few years older makes you that much more of a rational adult.

In other words, just because it may be all there is to the world, science is far from all there is, so you don't have the right to act more correct than anyone else, for I won't put my trust in it any further than I'll put my trust in Christianity or psionics. Human observation and experimentation, as you put them, are very weak forces, especially at the time.

I agree. How uncalled for. In a sense your post is hypocritial. Who the hell are you to say what's real and what isn't? Some things cannot be proven, yet you will also note that they also cannot be disproven, so you're doing the exact same thing that you're ranting about other people doing...spitting out a bunch of bullshit that you can't prove.

On topic: I believe psi phenomena exists ( Partly because I read a lot about it, including many skeptic articles, and concluded that there is evidence for its existence, but mostly because I have experienced it myself ). I don't expect you to respect my opinion, but I do expect you to express your opposing views respectfully.
If you read an opinion by someone you don't respect, because they are too young for your taste, or make spelling mistakes, then you have the option of ignoring them and not responding to them at all. If you answer disrespectfully all you are doing is offending people, and making you look childish.
