      state of mind.

ok so yesterday i was perfectly content with anything and anyone in my life. it was amazing. i kept it up for about 3 hours. i was careless... everything was 'perfect' i had no problems... or at least i didn't let my problems bother me. it was a really good feeling... and my day turned out to just be a genuinely fun day... everything that happened either made me happy or made me think positively. i wish i had more of these days... or at least moments of unadulterated clarity.

so here's what i was pondering... state of mind is everything and everything is relative to your outlook at that given time. having a "bad hair day?" no. you're just being anal... your hair is fine the way it is. is a coworker being a total douche bag? no. he's like that everyday... you just choose to let him annoy you today. bad weather? no. the weather is, as it's been since the beginning of time... not under your control... let it go.

just some thoughts i had to get out.
      clear eyes. strong hands.

nice observation das man. Ive recently also noticed the difference a state of mind has. It can change the way you think, feel and behave in your environment. When you are feeling a bit down or angry towards the world, its pretty easy to change your outlook when you can realise its only a state of mind. I find its easier to socialise and enjoy the day by listening to an upbeat album before heading outside, its pretty crazy how you can choose to feel by changing your environment.

That is pretty cool...your state of mind is all you need control of to be peaceful, nothing else.

I get this when I do mushrooms

Last time I did it (about a month ago), I was in a state of such inner peace that I literally started crying. I was so overwhelmed with a feeling of absolute harmony that I bawled my eyes out a number of times (the high comes in waves, so it happened at least 3 or 4 times)

To this day I still feel the peace to a noticeable extent, though not intense enough to induce tears thankfully but it was certainly the most intensely euphoric experience of my life.

If you ever come across a day like this again, I highly recommend trying mush (if you haven't already)...you sound like a candidate for an excellent trip

This is reminds me of a computer game I have (Journey to Wild Divine)

There are around 50 activities (I think...), most of them involve relaxation and calming your "monkey mind."

It really works (it uses biofeedback by three sensors placed on your fingers)

When your completely carefree and at that peaceful "state-of-mind" it is SO relaxing... it's like you've left this world and entered a realm of peace and security.

i find that psychedellic mushrooms give an exilant state of peace ,tranquility. they rock

one other way to induce this type of day you explained would be to perform self hypnosis and suggest "i am happy, i have inner peace"

One of the aims of a Buddhist is to remain in a regular state of mind even when confronted with a situation that would induce hatred to a different person. This is because suffering is a fact of life, but I wont get into that.

I've tried to do that. I think it's a skill, and a good one to have. However, who would want to remain in a regular state of mind when confronted with a happy situation? I dont know if it's supposed to go backwards as well.

it's all about perception and how you handle it.

there is the common perception - the world. without the common perception the world would cease to function.

some days when i feel cross or angry (which is not too often now, more grumpy shall i say), i have a look at whats going on and realise that it has nothing really to do with anyone else, just that i'm taking things personally.

who are we to question anyone's actions against us? does an animal question why in a jungle? no, and we are little more than that. we waste time questioning other's actions and loose valuable energy re-building our own self importance. that is what makes us vulnerable.
This reality is like a goldfish bowl. The dreamworld is the same, but larger. It's easy to get lost.

"You are whom you see in others"

I think to realize this is a big step toward self realization. Your just you, so you can only know yourself, and if you assume someone else to be angry, happy and so on, all you really see is aspects of your self.
Its like meeting a friend in a dream(not a shared dream ), you dont see your friend, but your own picture of everything you think of your friend, and he will behave just the way you think of him.
I think this is a fun thought about waking life to. The light is sent to the eye and to the brain and a huge scenary is made, where you are inside of it. You see a person, this person would be inside your brain, like in a dream, cause the brain is what is compelling all the senses together and making reality. This person would get a profile, just like the dream figure, and everything you think of him is just you.
The same from his side, all he thinks of you would just be him.
So to realize that "its all about you" could help to choose what you want to be. Ive had some differnt experience... where im .. lets say death-angry(if thats a word), and suddenly i realize that i can choose to be almost happy and it a complete turnover. So i think you are what you want to be
