What's the topic of this thread?

To show knee-jerk reactions to arguments - some of which are against your actual own thoughts and opinions, but are made as a response, as opposed to logic or reason.

I think it was pretty accurate, for many cases.

I wouldn't say genius, though, because I've known this for a while....unless you wanna call me genius...in which case...I won't argue.

If you included the rest of the article you would have found out that what you just said I was saying was another example.

I think its an interesting idea which you are MAJORLY over analysing, but the concept is correct ( genius may be a lil too strong)

Yes, I agree. Reminds me of a detective movie where at the end, the P.I. explains to the criminal what he did, why he did it, and what his next plans were *The crook is shocked because the P.I. read his nature of actions based on logic and using his perspective*

I'm going to go with option B.

One thing to consider is that these sorts of philosophical discussions would be pretty dry if everybody just chipped in, "Yep, sounds good. +1." Playing devil's advocate can be a useful way to stimulate discussion so that ultimately everybody involved gets more out of it. I think it's a bit cynical to assume that everybody is just taking "quick stands" as you describe them and is only interested in "beating" the other posters.

Some of the best science comes from science fiction. Movies are a way to share ideas to a large audience.

People who use the phrase, "think outside the box" are not capable of thinking for themselves at all, regardless of any boxes in question. It is a corporate meme that has rubbed off on you; probably from watching a movie.

Yeah I agree. I realized TV and Movies are a waste of time. But I don't think this knowledge makes me a genius

I don't agree they are completely useless tho, there are movies out there who serve an educational purpose, or who teach you about human social interaction. You can always learn something from a movie, but yeah usually, they are a waste of time.

people do think and have reasons before they post

there are people who post out of their arse, but not everyone. if this wasn't a discussion for discussions sake, you would find very different reasons why people feel the way they do about the necessity for the theatrical, or not.

I dont see anywhere where you admit it would be assuming too much? im still only reading it would put the reader on the defensive. maybe you should make that more clear

I don't like taking part in debates, because it's the same thing every time. Especially with extroverted people. I follow that exact pattern, realizing it's going to result the exact same way each time. Religious debates in particular.

I do have to say, your post is genius. I've been trying to figure out an effective way of displaying this idea.

mainly only because I've partly thought about it. its interesting though, I'll admit sometimes I dont stand my ground when someone voices there opinion. this will change.

Its only those that compartmentalize their own thoughts and are incapable of thinking outside of specific perameters that believe others do the same, and will have well defined and easily predictable responses to vague stimuli.

If you think every person will have one of 4 responses, all it shows is that you are only capable of imagining 4 possible outcomes for any given situation.
