I've been thinking about vision lately, and came to some interesting conclusions.
When I close my eyes, my eye lids don't allow light to enter my eyes and be interpreted by my brain into the many things possible to see. With this lack of light, I see a glittering blackness. This same glittering blackness is what I see outside in the dark, or when looking at any dark object that doesn't reflect enough light to be seen clearly.
The entire world, as I see it, all depends on light reflecting off things into my eyes where my brain sorts out the various frequencies and amplitudes into these amazing images. Without light, there is glittering blackness, from which my brain creates everything I've ever seen.
I tried reverse blinking today also. I closed my eyes while walking down the path, and opened them very briefly every 10 seconds or so, taking in as much as I could see in that moment they were open. It was enough to get a picture of where I was, and my velocity, which I kept an image of in my head so as to not go off course while my eyes were closed. It was very relaxing, as there were no visual distractions, although it is definitely not the best way to go about getting places. It's fun to try every now and then though.
