The "When you die you wake up" idea
I was thinking... When you have a dream, you wake up and you are in your body. Maybe there is a mind that is trying to convince us THIS is life, like in dreams. There is actually a HUGE brain that is conjuring existence as a thought, and when we wake up, we become conscious in that brain. I always thought life after death wasn't possible, because without a brain or other organs, you wouldn't be able to comprehend what has happening IN the afterlife, but if this theory is true, then it is totally possible.

Dun't really see much of a problem with the brain in a vat theory meself. As philosophical speculation goes it's pretty plausible. Maybe reality's complete shit so we made this to keep ourselves happy.

It would suck if you woke up after dying to find out all of your accomplishments, were nothing, your family never existed and your wife (if you had one) was a figment of your imagination. Really, that would suck.

What makes you think that life would be similar in the real reality (if there is one)? You may wake up to find that you're not human, or that the concept of the individual has no meaning there. You may even wake up and find that you are less than before, like an insect.
