      Changing our reality

      Is it possible to deliberately trick our minds to see a different reality (without the aid of drugs)? Could we possibly fabricate delusions that we have super powers/mind powers for example? I realize that some people do this, new agers and such. I think they're either cons (don't really believe it themselves) or are unconsciously aware that they're actually wrong. The question is could you consciously be aware that you experience a delusion?

      Ofcourse. Come up with evidence that sounds logical at face value and you've got yourself a delusion. People do this all the time to make themselves believe they're not lying. If you look at this thread http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=66364 you'll notice something that may very well be a delusion. I'm not sure you can just sit down and say "I want to believe I can influence people's actions through silent thought alone", but subconsciously, people form delusions for various reasons.

      You ask this on a site about lucid dreaming? Does your question really require input other than www.dreamviews.com ?

      Yes, even sensory perception.
      You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

      It's definitely possible, but it's not something you want to fuck with, at least not if you value your sanity.

      When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do was to lie in bed and make the room sway as if it were a boat at sea. Believing that you can do things like fly or shoot energy from your belly button might be a little more difficult, but you would be surprised at what level of control your conscious mind has over your waking perceptions.

      When I take acid or shrooms I notice some things as real and than other such things as bending walls, breathing desks as an illusion.

      Not a delusion, the word delusion itself defines itself as belief in the untrue.. it would be impossible to discern something as a delusion.

      And

      And you've just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low;

      Go ask Alice, I think she'll know.

      When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead;

      And the white knight is talking backwards;

      And the red queen's off with her head;
      Remember what the doormouse said,

      Feed your head, feed your head
      This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

      I have done it once, i probably played cod4 too much i guess but one second my room was my room, the next my room was transformed into a call of duty 4 map. Literally the whole room transformed....it was as if i was playing call of duty 4 IRL. It was not a dream, i was laying on my bed, then i stood up and sat on it and watched the map on my bed. Lasted like 5-6 seconds, even after i rubbed my eyes it was still there. I made a thread about it somewhere in DV.
