Maybe you only get sick if you eat inside the building? Could be at McDonald's but eating outside. |
|
I didn't know if this belonged here or not, but I am facing a logic dilemma and I can't seem to figure it out.... |

A warrior does not give up what he loves, he finds the love in what he does
Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.

I really don't understand the question. Is the loophole the drive through? |
|
see...I dont get it either. I guess there is some logic rule that can be used but I dont get it. |

When did you eat at McDonald's? Maybe you ate there two years ago, so you can't say that you will get sick because of that...you probably already got sick. |
|
Maybe you get a heart attack on the way out before the sickness kicks in? |
|
Premise 1 doesnt specify when you get sick after eating McDonalds, Premise 2 is in past tense so im assuming you may not get sick for another 50 years even. |

this could possibly work. but someone else tried the death thing and the response was "well, that doesnt mean you wouldnt have gotten sick in the future" So I guess that means there is some way to say you wont get sick period? I can only think it must be in the syntax because otherwise it is a definite... |

I really think it needs to specify when you ate at McDonald's |
|
Where did you get this question from? |
|
I got it from one of our teachers trying to be smart, It seems like nobody has actually heard of a stupid question like this before. However, I think you may be on to something with the ate at a different McDonalds...Ill get the answer. |

The planet Earth exhibits all of these properties and therefore can be considered alive and its own single organism by the scientific definition.does the planet Earth reproduce, well no unless you count the moon.7. Reproduction: The ability to produce new organisms.
Could it be that you can't get sick because you are already sick? |
|
The loophole is pretty obvious, I think? ~ |
|
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
so...Mr. philosophiser totally is an a hole. Today he goes "the answer is, there is no loophole!" *Chuckle chuckle* |

Sounds like a clever man, this teacher of yours. |

This could actually be a loophole. It makes a lot of sense. The second premise says that you ate at Mcdonalds and it does not specify when. The logical conclusion that you will get sick could be wrong because you could have already been sick meaning no sickness from it ahead of you. Try that on your philosopher/teacher. |
