in school we are doing a study of peoples opinions on IVF. i thought i would come here to see what you guys think about it. good or bad?
also, if you have any reasons behind it, i would like to know them.

What is IVF?
Why would anyone be against it?
#edit#
I had a quick chat with Dr. Google and it seems some studies suggest there's a somewhat higher probability of birth defects in IVF. Yet I suspect the main issues people might have with this are just the typical religious bullshit. :|
Thought so...
No logic, just "My crazy beliefs say it's wrong so no one should be allowed to do it!"
Well I suppose you could argue that it's bad for the human race evolutionarily speaking.
Not that I personally believe it's a bad thing.
Can you add useless in the vote?
We don't understand enough about the human body and its functions to mess around with it on this level. We can't even fix spinal cord injury consistently yet.
I vote 'unwise'. Or bad.
It may be useful in the future when we need to genetically engineer humans with traits that make them comfortable in deep space as pilots or members aboard "star ships", but it should be reserved for the time that we really know enough about what we're doing in that field.
how on earth is it useless, ive heard many arguements about it, but never useless.
so, if a woman really wants a child(of her own blood), but she is infertile, then what? IVF, thats what.
well, its actually advanced enough to have no mistakes. there are a lot of people out there right now all grown up and normal who were test "tube babies"
and if they were to make it you could change their skills etc. like good piloting skills etc. then religious people would be even more against it than they are now, for the reason that it is unnatural.
Source, please.
And I'm not concerned about the objections of others. I'm here to give my own opinion, and to form my own thoughts. I'm all for population reduction right now, so the concept of test tube babies, or any kind of babies, puts me off a bit. One child per family is fine, and if it's used for sterile women, I see no issue if it's a flawless procedure.
The warm thing between a womans thighs is very pleasurable and if you stick your pole in it you can have babies while pleasuring each other. Get two birds stoned at the same time. Hell, you may even have to try a few times to get it right, which means having sex at fertile hours which = multiple sex sessions every day! Hell yes, IVF is useless for those who are fertile.
If you're infertile and greedy enough to want your own child. Sure, choose IVF even though the fact that your infertile probably means god doesn't want you spreading your terrible genes around. Yes, I said GOD!! hahaha
everyone knows that they work perfectly fine.
yes, but we arent talking about that right now
your right, i dont think couples who are able to have children naturally should use IVF.
and if youre infertile and want your own child of your own blood, that is not greedy in any way.
and i dont mind you bringing god into this, religion is part of the arguement anyway.
it was just a reference to that other thread...Quote:

test tube babies are cool with me :boogie:
I don't really have a problem with it. The only issue I know of is that there's a greater chance for multiple births, since doctors often implant multiple embryos in case a few fail to implant.
There wasn't "indifferent" option in the poll :<
