Civil War a comin? (relates to philosophy in the end)

      Dictionary.com says this:
      Conservative:
Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change. Conservative; of or belonging to the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom or the Progressive Conservative Party in Canada. Tending to conserve; preservative: the conservative use of natural resources.[/b]
So essentially you could say that they love their values. They don’t want to change them for anything. They don’t believe in changing values, they’re happy as they are and believe in “If it ain’t broke. Don’t fix it.”

      Liberal:
Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.[/b]
For this you could say that Liberals are comfortable with changing their views to whatever may be proven to be better. You could say that most scientists are liberal because they are willing to believe in what religious people could consider to be “ridiculous nonsense” because they have hard proof to back up their claims. Whereas religions only have trust, trust that the person telling you these things or the book you’re reading them out of speaks the truth. One could then say that religious people tend to be conservatives, they believe blindly that it the stories are true. Even against hard proof they believe it is true because their mind tells them it’s true. Liberals could be more tolerant of differences, they probably don’t care whether you’re a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Shintoist, Confucianist, Jewish, Sikh, Zen, or whatever. Where as it could be said that a Conservative might look down upon you for not having the same religion.

      My issues with Conservatism:
Follow your values all you want, just do not be unwilling to change. I don’t necessarily mean change your values, just look at them from another perspective. Doing so will cause you to learn things you could not have learned from your point of view. If I see you unbothered by someone’s opinion but bothered by his or her religion I will see a problem. Religion is not simply a belief system, it is series of opinions. Many people spent a lot of time to record different opinions. Over time as people begin to read them and believe in them they became a story of life, a beginning of life story, or a way of life, and later became so precious in certain people’s minds that it became religion. That is all that separates opinion and religion. Numbers. One person will believe their opinion on life, but it is not considered religion. The moment it becomes religion is when many people begin accepting it as truth. As such, opinions are subject to revision because it is very possible that they are wrong. So when someone is saying something you don’t agree with, try to look at it from their perspective and as many other imaginable positions as possible. Only then will you know better.

      My issues with Liberalism:
It is good that you are open to changing your life and opinion because someone has proven to you that it is better than your previous. But you should have at least some philosophical opinions. Philosophy is religion. All philosophy is, is the pursuit of wisdom. All religion is, is a way to explain things that we do not know, we are searching for wisdom with intelligence. I’m not saying to pick a religion, just pick a few concepts you agree with after a lot of contemplation. Do not be angered by differences, differences are to be expected. Think of it no different than a tiger vs a lion. They’re both considered members of the feline family, yet they are different. Only because they need different things. When they both need the same thing, they will become the same.

Sorry but I skipped over a lot of what you where saying. Almost the entire post was about people being gay and the problems with it. I think its something like 80% of the people in the US are against gay marriage. Its not even really a party issue. Yea the one side pushes for laws more but most people on both sides are against it.

With that said, no one is going to have a civil war over it.

      Ya I know.

I was going to write in a last thing of "PS If you skilled large parts of the post, please don't reply" for that very reason but I decided against it. In retrospect I realize that I failed to explain the relation to the possibility of an imminent civil war. I wrote about the reasons that would cause a civil war. That these issues have our country so divided that they could escalate to a civil war. As this wasn't originally my idea, I got the strange sudden urge to write about this after reading a couple forum posts on other forums, sort of as an exploratory writing in which I would write on the fly. Writing what I thought at the moment instead of having a pre laid out organization. Even this post is like that. Oh dear...

I did read a lot of it but it kind of seemed to go into a large rant. Anyway if your main point was "we are split in a lot of ways" then I still doubt there would be a civil war. Most of the things people argue over isn't something worth killing people for.

I was fairly focused at the beginning, but as it progressed it lost pretty much all focus and started just yammering on and on. Even I have almost no clue what I actually said in it. If you just skip through parts of it it may make me seem like a racist . Especially with the part about the interpretation of the Constitution by white supremacists during the 1800's. If you just skip everything and just look at that, oh man it seems bad. I didn't even cover everything I originally wanted to cover.

I say, no more exploratory writing for me into things suggested in two posts on forums.

I would just keep it short. I am sure you could get your point across without spending so much time writing.

Ya I hardly agree with what I said myself during that. Worst. Forum. Post. Ever.

Edit: Fixed. Now it says only what I mean. Not any of the senseless retard crap I wrote without thinking. Maybe someday in the distant future I may choose to sit down and revise and reword to get what I mean instead of blah.

Just needs to topic title changed to "Liberal vs. Conservative" or something like that.

Maybe its just me and I don't really know anything, but I think economical differences in beliefs are far more likely to cause a civil war, than any philosophical beliefs. You might think someone is to uptight and unwilling to change, that they are just a drugged out hippy but your not going to shoot them for it.

When theres money however, things are far more likely to get out of hand.

That's a possibility, but it depends on who's in control. A rash leader could call his/her people to war over the differences between the other side and themselves. An intelligent leader would think nothing of it. Charles Manson managed to convince people that they should kill people for almost no reason.

But allow me to clarify what I meant by civil war:
Civil war does not necessarily imply a war with bloodshed. A civil war like in the posts above would be like the Cold War, a war fought with political bs, proof of who has the largest penis and who could put their penis closest to the other guys'.

2779 – Remaining US land is reclaimed after second uprising by Natives; selected organizations (e.g. Noko Laboratories, Wall Street, etc.) allowed to remain on small Caucasian reservations; the Epoch of Reprisal, or ER, begins
2780 -3994 – [modern records obscured – though it is known that during this time, with the collaboration of Native medicine men and Noko Laboratory staff, the formula for an eternal-life-giving elixir is created and tested on Taigi and her husband, Second Wind; both become youthfully immortal; it is not known exactly what became of Tumbril, though several accounts have it that he lived out another two-hundred and sixty-one years in peace until his death at four-hundred twenty-one years]
3995 – Bygones Covenant established; US slowly returns to pre-Epochal state
3996 – Arabic Palestinians impatient to restore pre-Epochal borders; Card Deck War begun with Israeli Palestinians
4021 – Zhongguo celebrates the 2,000th anniversary of its democratic state
4048 – The war subsides, but both sides continue the primeval stalemate; [the state of] Israeli Palestine celebrates its 2,100th anniversary
4050 – Elections held; Eighteen year-old Hazeline Sol becomes fifty-first POTUS
4053 – President Sol is assassinated by an unidentified assailant; twenty year old Vice-President Kari Digms is sworn in after the funeral (incidentally becoming the first President of African-Descent)
4054 – A national census is taken, revealing [incidentally] that the resulting US population is by percentage: 41% Native, 39% African-Descent, 29511/512% Asian-Descent, and 1/512% Caucasian
4056 – The remainder of the nation’s Caucasian population successfully targeted by a secret operation carried out by the Raven (also known as the Great-granddaughters of the Black Panther, or GOBP), a group of militant feminist African-Descended; murders overlooked by Supreme Court and later pardoned by President Digms
4057 – Violent friction erupts between the Natives and African-Descended populations; Natives advocate a permanent Reprisal, while African-Descended advocate remaining the [political] majority, the Natives call them the “New Whites”; Asian-Descended choose to remain neutral
4059 – Israeli forces begin a movement to expand their borders once again, overtaking (and occupying) Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan
4061 – Civil War II, resurrecting the way of terrestrial war, begins (eerily, exactly 2,200 years to the day that CW I did); the country is divided into East (African-Descended) and West (Natives), the line being drawn between Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana; White House subsequently torn down, and a new one is built again in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
4062 – Vietnamese forces arrive suddenly -- led by President Caradog Dinh, age twenty-five – to support Natives
4063 - Israel continues its driven movement, and has overtaken the countries of Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Otar, and the United Arab Emirates
4065 – Vietnamese forces leave; Israel engulfs the remaining countries of Yemen and Oman, and crosses over to Djibouti and Iran, however, it only manages to overtake land up to the city of Kerman; a ceasefire is called in the US
4066 – Zhongguo President Zhao Chiang, age thirty-five, and a few others travel to Eritrea to block off rapidly advancing Israeli forces, President Digms et al. head over to Iran to dam off forces there
4067 – Several talks are held, between African-Descended representative President Digms and Native representative and former President Taigi Edwin, and between President Chiang and Israeli President Mordechai Gurion-Zvi, age thirty-one
4069 – The TUN/CUN comes back to together; East and West make peace with the signing of E Plurubus Unum Treaty that lays terrestrial war to rest in peace once again and for all
4070 – Israel returns and vacates land taken from Eritrea, Djibouti, and Iran, allowed to keep the rest of what it conquered
4072 – US immigration from Zhongguo and Europe, all Caucasian
4076 – US celebrates its 2,300th anniversary, invitations sent out to heads of state of other countries from the TUN/CUN to attend banquet and fireworks

A few notes: Zhongguo is the Chinese name for China; Tumbril is 48th POTUS Jeffrey E. Tumbril; The TUN/CUN is the Terrestrial United Nations/Celestial United Nations, the two future terrestrial and aerial divisions of the United Nations, respectively.

Chew on that for a bit.
