Dreaming you are having an LD...

Could it be possible that no one here is having LD's but simply having dreams where they know they are in a dream, so they do cool stuff. AKA Is the brain REALLY awake during the dream or is it simply a type of dream. I mean it is almost the same thing but how can you really tell?
how do you know if you aren't in a 'dream' right now?

well if you start asking questions like this your just going to end up in a hopeless loop... but the point of it is you realise you are dreaming thats all lucidity is.. the control and stuff are just another factor.. once you realise you are not in reality you can start to bend it to your will.

How can you tell you are really awake?

Could be dreaming.. some one else could be dreaming... could be in the matrix..

How can you tell that your alive?

I mean u might just think your alive but really your just in some one elses subconcious?

You see my point? These questions are just a little too open ended for the human brian to really enterperate into a good answer. The short answer is:

      YOU JUST KNOW!
I hate all those people who are Anti-Everything. I'm not forcing them to do it.. why the hell do they insist on preeching constantly to me?

I've had dreams where I was dreaming that I knew I was dreaming, but those aren't the same as lucid dreams. They have a totally different feel. It's your conscious mind that is awake in a lucid dream. You can recall what you did during the day, who you did it with, who your third grade teacher was. You recognize absurd dream elements as absurd, and your logic is fully functional. I don't really know how else to describe the difference, but as one who has experienced both, there is definitely a difference.
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”
      - Voltaire (1694 - 1778)

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems.

I guess so. Moved. Somebody else can move it back if it deviates back into the general boundaries of these questions.

I think there are just different levels of awareness. I have had many lucid dreams, but I have never had one where I had a clear picture of what was going on in my waking life. I always have some vague idea, but my picture is full of delusions and distortions. I often think I am asleep in houses where I think I live but in reality actually don't. I have delusions like that of having pets that never existed and think land marks from several different states are all on the same street as my house (I live in an apartment.). However, I am completely clear on the fact that I am dreaming and am able to control the dream. The not knowing adds a fun dimension to my lucid dreams because I get very curious about what my waking life is actually like and look forward to waking up and finding out. Then I wake up and see my usual reality's nature, and at that moment, it is "news." It is like snapping back from amnesia.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
