Which one would you prefer to have a beer with? |

The worst thing that can happen to a good cause is, not to be skillfully attacked, but to be ineptly defended. - Frédéric Bastiat
I try to deny myself any illusions or delusions, and I think that this perhaps entitles me to try and deny the same to others, at least as long as they refuse to keep their fantasies to themselves. - Christopher Hitchens

Chose Thor because he has all of the awesomeness you would expect from a god, but doesn't have as many of the arsehole characteristics as the Abrahamic god. I'm not entirely sure what to make of Satan. Most of what we know about him comes straight out of the bible, which happens to be an extremely one-sided account. So if that's the best we have to go on, we really have no way of knowing if he's as much of a dickhead as he's made out to be. He probably just got a bad rap and happens to be a lot cooler than we've been made to think, but I'm gonna play it safe and avoid him anyway. |
|
You only get half a beer then - Thor is only a demigod. |
|
It's alright. I actually don't drink alcohol, so he's welcome to all the beer. I just think it would be cool to hang out with him. |

I put Thor, But I would only want to if He Wasn't used to being able to get drunk like in the movie. |

I would definitely have a cold one with Satan. As a mortal I think i could relate to him better than God. Id imagine it would be awkward to just chill with him. |

I'm not a religious person, but i would say i love them both equally. I compare those 2 with emotions. |

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.
It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.
How would it even be possible to have a beer with god? He's not personified... except in a couple of allegorical paintings and when he decided to hobnob with his subjects as Jesus. And Jesus is no longer alive, so how does a noncorporeal entity drink? |
|
Not only is he not Loki's Brother, he's also not a demigod. His mother was a giant, as were both of Loki's parents. The giants are like the norse version of titans. |

That's still half god, amirite? Ergo demigod. |
|
No, because the norse model doesn't fall into a god/non-god dichotomy. You may as well say if someone's the child of an aesir god and vanir god then they're only a demigod. A jotunn is still a type of norse deity. If it weren't then loki wouldn't even be considered a god at all because both his parents were frost giants. |

I just edited my above post. You were right ya bastard. |

Awe I wanted to keep talking about it, I love myth. |

For some reason I always had Thor pegged as a demigod like Hercules. In each case their dad was the king of the gods and they were sent to earth to mingle, just like Jesus. So, would Jesus be considered a demigod, since his birth mother was human? Or all god since he was essentially God corporealized? |

I have a feeling Jord posed Odin the question, "Is it in yet?" |

This hits home with something Joseph Campell likes to talk about when considering the Trimurti and stuff. While you can't have Vishnu without Shiva, Brahma transcends both. |

I must say, it's been amusing to watch from afar your focus wax over time, Omnis Dei. If you can look past the rather lame title, consider this a token to usher you forward: Maeterlinck's The Great Secret. Comically, even Xei, along with others, would do well to read this. |
