Is Lucid Dreaming of Satan? -Chriatian

I can Lucid Dream at will and I want to continue to use it but I don't know if it is from Satan. I personally would not think so because everyone dreams and if God gave us the ability to dream then why's it matter if you are conscious or not? I don't believe anywhere in the Bible it says Self-controlling of dreams is evil. And I also think that NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO in a LD, it can help you improve your life, not using witchmaterial but by using your dreams that everyone has each night. All answers are appreciated, except Atheists'. Thank ya.

Use caution when speaking of religion in this place, specifically usage of Christian symbols. There are atheist bigots about and they won't hesitate to call you "stupid" or "homophobe" for your beliefs.

You mentioned that "God gave me the ability, therefore it must be alright." This is not always true. God gave you the ability to murder. That does not make it alright. God gave you the choice to destroy your own body. That does not make it alright. But lucid dreaming has nothing to do with God or Satan.

Hi there, I am not Christian myself, but am religious, so hopefully you are open to my reply as well. In the Bible there are many examples where God uses dreams to communicate with people. I think that lucid dreaming could actually deepen your spiritual practices and relationship with God. A lucid dream could be used for prayer, meditation, asking God for an answer to a question, or may even allow you to feel God's presence more deeply.

There are Christians on this site who practice LDing, and a varied spectrum of beliefs, so despite what the above post says, you shouldn't worry about speaking about your religion on this site.

I am Christian (Catholic), yet see nothing wrong. Though I'm not really religious or anything. No, it's not "from Satan," it's a natural ability, everyone can do it. So I guess you could even say, as you alluded to, that its from God since its pretty much built in to us.

I think your problem lies with your teachings.... Don't jump on me for saying this, but why is it that people like to say that things they don't understand must be the devil? Why would you believe, even for a moment, that your Dreams are from the devil? I don't understand how people can become this way. Of course you wouldn't want atheists point of view, it differs from yours. You probably only want self reassuring points of view instead of ones that challenge you to think for yourself. I'm not atheist, but I'm not religious either. I'm spiritual. Your entitled to your own beliefs and opinions, as is the church, but don't think you are aware of everything. Not even for an instant, that's called self deception.
      I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
      Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

Just a question...Why not accept atheists' answers?
Why close off those possibilities of knowledge, wisdom and opinions?

They may still have on topic and rational answers.
Heck probably more scientific answers too, that is, uninfluenced by the limitations of certain teachings.

Atheism, like religion, has its benefits and detriments.

Edit: I believe in the God of the Jews and Christians by the way.

I don't think it's fair or sensible to say you don't want any atheists to reply. In fact, I don't think what religion or lack thereof someone is has much impact on this topic. It's like saying someone who isn't an athlete therefore has no knowledge of athletics. Just because someone isn't a christian, doesn't mean they don't know much about being a christian or the bible. And if they in fact don't, they may be able to offer some more moral or scientific viewpoints on the subject. You want a wide range of replies, to get a variety of opinions, rather than posts that comfort you and fit with what you think entirely. To do that you need a wide variety of people.

I am a Christian, evangelical some would call me although not trying to convert anyone here. I teach Sunday School, and can read Koine Greek, the original language of the New Testament....have studied the Bible for 40 years. My conclusion is that Lucid Dreaming does not make one better or worse, spiritually. You are who you are awake or asleep. I do things in my LDs I am not always proud of, just as I do things in real life I am not proud of. I have raped, beaten people, and other stuff that would land me in jail if real, but they are just dreams and hardly any consequences although I would not say none at all. You learn about yourself in dreams...some may find that disturbing...but if you know your true self you can then decide to do something about it if you choose. I am much happier practicing lucid dreams... I think I catch a glimpse of what living as a spirit might be. I have seen stuff that looked better than reality at times. But, in the Christian life it is also a matter of conscience. If it feels wrong to you, you may choose to avoid it for conscience sake. Each must make his own decision in this matter.

I'm Muslim and I don't think lucid dreaming could be wrong at all, because in Islam almost every prohibited thing is because it's harmful. Dreams are just fun

Disclaimer: I'm an atheist, but I"m also right.

Lucid dreams are dreams, only in that you control them. There's no evidence that points to Satan creating them, so you can rest assured.

Hi, atheist here. Asking for everybody's opinion BUT atheists pretty much asks for an atheists opinion.

So here is something you may wish to consider. The existence of Satan has not (or indeed, cannot) be proven, and so asking if something if "from Satan" is a pretty meaningless question. In reality there's more reason to think that he doesn't exist, or at least interact with us in any meaningful way. So on this point, I would say no, it isn't from Satan. It's something cool our brain does/can do. No real reason to think it comes from some nebulous "God" being.

We all have to sleep, we all have to dream
Some of us remember, others wipe their memory clean
With nightmares and fantasies, we lose our reality
But that's with no control, of anything you see

If you take the demons leashed, and release them inside
In waking life they reach, in your emotions they will hide
Wake while asleep, conscious in mind.
We act out our wants, in doing so we shine

Murderer in dream land, charity worker IRL
Just because we think it, should we burn in hell?
Our person may be calm, our mind may be a loony
Don't let one cross the other, lest ye life be gloomy

You are who you are, nothing that can change
Be you of sound mind, or totally deranged
If purity you seek, then seek and you shall find
Corrupted is your persona? Corrupted is your mind

      -TheRealTenman

Basically if you live a good christian life and keep pure, you should be fine no matter what you do in a dream, its all in your head.
BUT if you let these things change your life... well...then it changes your life
Like when someone has a reoccurring nightmare, it can ruin there life. Others can deal with it, solve it, ignore it and move on with there life.

Lucid dreams are like a thought...
      Ask yourself this :
"Have I ever had an impure thought?"

If you answer no then you are either a liar or Jesus (although even he chased a bunch of people out of a church with a whip)
If you answer yes and feel fairly neutral, then no worries, go ahead and lucid dream.
If you answer yes and feel worried about your soul then you are pretty much stuffed any way so lucid dream

Cause athesists can't interpret The Bible objectively. Right.

Anyway, yeah, it's totally Satanic. Stop as soon as possible and ask for forgiveness if you even want a chance of getting into heaven.

You came into a thread questioning whether or not lucid dreaming was accepted by Christianity, and claimed that one very big part of the religion isn't real. Not to mention you started the post off by saying you're an atheist.

And I'm pretty sure you're fucking with me now.
