Thanks for reading and responding, DebraJane. I'm glad you took the time to check out Veridicanism a bit. The Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ is, of course, free online, but if you want a book, I'm sure you could go to any bookstore and they would order it from Amazon for you. |

If this is not trolling, I would like to say that I consider your statement to seriously trivialise the tragic nature of these events. They were the product of irrationality and hatred. To say instead that they were the product of divinity... is something I consider warped and dangerous. |

The worst thing that can happen to a good cause is, not to be skillfully attacked, but to be ineptly defended. - Frédéric Bastiat
I try to deny myself any illusions or delusions, and I think that this perhaps entitles me to try and deny the same to others, at least as long as they refuse to keep their fantasies to themselves. - Christopher Hitchens

Please, tell us clearly what it is that you are implying. I want to make sure that you aren't disrespectfully ridiculing people's spiritual beliefs within a thread that is meant to help people grieve, in their own way, to a national tragedy involving multiple casualties. |

If you would like to join OP in prayers and sympathy to those affected by terrorist act, feel free. If not, stay out. This is not the place to debate wheather you agree with OP or not. |
|
Challenging beliefs and opinions is allowed. Trolling and being disrespectful is not, and this is spelled out in the forum rules. |
|
It's not really an argument in the sense of militance for some religious position or other. It's more about putting a moral question to the OP and others who read the thread. If a preacher stopped me on the street and made a similar proclamation, I would raise the point with him... and I don't see any problems with that situation as an avenue. If somebody says something where you think it's morally questionable, and that they should question it, I think it's best to put your position to them there and then. If they don't want to hear it, you can just move along. |
|
Everything everyone says is morally questionable to someone. If I questioned everything I heard that I think is "morally questionable", I'd never stop arguing. You will never be able to make everyone see everything the way you do, but you won't be able to see everything from their point of view either. If it doesn't affect my life or someone else, I don't worry about it too much and silently disagree with them. |
|
Okay |

Thank you all very much for taking the time to read the prayer I composed for the people of Boston, even if you vehemently disagree with my view of God or religion, I still appreciate you taking the time to consider it, and hopefully offer up a private prayer of your own for those same people. |
