Cool DV Christians Unite! (Christian Only Thread) (Original Thread)

Hey DV Christians! I figured since there's not really any good threads to discuss and fellowship with one another I thought I'd make one! Feel free to bring up scripture, any conviction you've had, any questions, etc. But my one request is be respectful, especially when taking about other religions and atheists. And same goes for you others who are atheist or of a different belief, no bashing please. It only takes ten seconds to report you for being disrespectful.

I have yet to meet (besides BrandonBoss) any followers of our Lord in the lucid dreaming community. I have a YouTube channel on lucid dreaming, and when I was talking about a dream I had, and I mentioned that I was a Christian, I got unsubed by someone who said it was because I was a Christian. Have you felt similiar prejudices here? Thanks!

I've never had that problem. I've been persecuted, even here on DV, but its really cool to meet people outside of my Body of Christ. Because all the people I know I know really well and it's cool to talk to people I don't know who follow God and are in a different fellowship.

Honestly I'm fine with that, I just meant that I wasn't gonna respond to it. And technically I did ignore you because the entire post was toward the author of the thread. But still it doesn't matter, it never mattered, I have no reason to explain. And since I took the time to write that I might as well post something useful in a Christian thread.

      Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[c] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[d] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:14-26

      And something else.

Featured Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

And this is the last lol

Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lot of arguing going on in this thread Time for some nice discussion!

What do you guys think about spiritual experiences in dreams? Do you think God reaches out to us in dreams? (I know there's a thread on whether or not we can talk to God through lucid dreams, but I'm speaking of any dreams in general)

I often have a lot of nonsensical dreams that don't seem to have much of a purpose, but every so often I'll have a dream that has an emotional impact on me. They're usually full of symbolic meaning and give me insight to my life, whether they be warnings about the future or just general advice. There are many stories in the Bible where dreams play a central role, and the things that people dreamt about back then were definitely considered important in their waking lives. I often wonder if God still interacts with us in the dreaming world to the degree He did back in those days, and that nowadays we just tend to dismiss them as not as important as they really are.

In my experience it is we who fail to reach out

      The experience..

      The teaching ..

Is always there with an answer

It is easy to dismiss that which has been forgotten
