I feel as though you're trying to make some sort of point, but you're not doing as good a job of getting it across as you had hoped... .-.
The point seems pretty clear to me - Christ would never condone violence, armed or unarmed, in the name of Christianity. How disingenuous of them to try to make this display of ritualized violence seem
Christian by painting the names of the 7 deadly sins on pieces of wood and then breaking them. It's the same mentality as any other so called religious warriors - the Cursades, Muslim terrorists etc. Christ must be rolling over in his - shifting on the - well, he must be doing something wherever it is he's disappeared to lo these 2 thousand years.
lol
lol This is cute.
I want karate for hedonism.
We put a bunch of food on the board and then eat it in between naps.
I always knew that the Bible was preaching about martial arts the whole time.

Dismissing karate as mere ritualized violence is like saying meditation/reflection is just a glorified nap.
“True karate is this: that in daily life one’s mind and body be trained and developed in a spirit of humility, and that in critical times, one be devoted utterly to the cause of justice.” –Gichin Funakoshi
It's exercise and a social activity to some, and a lifestyle devoted to discipline and etiquette to others. Likening it to the Unholy Crusades is a bit of stretch. It'd be one thing if karate was simply about bashing a few faces in, but even in its most diluted form - these types of clubs - one's form is more important than the amount of damage you do. And from what I understand, violence is about hurting someone, not admiring their stance. =/
Yeah - martial arts for peace!!
Meditation isn't about repeatedly causing microfractures in the bones of the hands and feet to toughen them up so they can become effective bludgeons to smash the opponent's face in. Do you score points in karate competitions by loving the opponent? In fact - think about that - opponent. Not partner - not neighbor. Enemy.
Though it would be cool to see a remake of Mel Gibson's flick - how about The Passionate Flying Fists of the Christ? I can see it now - it could be so fuckin badass!! Jean Claude Van Jesus. In fact even though he could just kick everybody's ass he lets them put him up on the crucifix just so he can smash it into pieces and then use the holy shards to stab all the Jews with! What a different religion Christianity would be then!!
