Catholicism: A Force For Good? - Panel Convinces Hundreds Of The Opposite

While I am at it next door - I had been coming across something very encouraging concerning numbers and religion a while ago.
This panel discussion made a huge effect.

Motion: The Catholic church is a force for good in the world.
For the motion: Archbishop John Onaiyekan, Ann Widdecombe
Against the motion: the late Christopher Hitchens, Stephen Fry

The Yes fraction went from 678 down to 268 - No rose from 1102 to 1876 and undecided swayed to No almost entirely.

I almost felt sorry for the Catholic side to have been represented by Ann Widdecombe. With Stephen Fry on the other side, there was no doubt who had the moral high ground.

I would almost go as far as to call Stephen Fry my idol - I deeply admire him.
This was a cooperation, though - and Hitchens does a fine job indeed as well.
I came across Fry first in Blackadder - then watched his fantastic documentaries on homophobia and bipolar disorder - some Wooster and Jeeves - and a lot of Qi = "Quite interesting".
