      What is Darkness?

They all say we are beings of light. Light would be love. But I wonder about darkness. What it is made out of and how does a soul become dark.

The total disdain for love, warmth, and compassion. Kindness, patience, sensitivity, empathy... all the virtues. The eminent and sour feeling of hate and disgust. The desire to destroy everything and everything beautiful and of quality or value. The satanic pleasures. The constant anger and irritation. Anger, rage, evil. And the sicker the acts the more pleasure one feels.

I can access my dark side a bit and understand it. It is almost like a drug. It's a bad act but it feels so good. Criminally good and you don't want to stop. Then you reach a point where you want to do good and do better. And you make efforts to change your ways and be clean. But a dark soul doesn't care. They'll shoot up again, rape, kill, torture and whatever evil act they desire and they feel no sorrow or remorse. That's the difference between a good person and a bad person. And they don't care about themselves or what happens to them. They actually think they will get away with it and so they can continue their evil acts. Love and compassion irritates and infuriates them. It disguists them and they want to destroy it. They want to destroy the light. Totally darkness. The blackest black, a darkness beyond what we perceive as black. And then they lie and try to act like their good just to play a mind trick on you and take advantage of you and do more damage and destruction. They strip you of all your layers, strip you of your strength, your protection, and open up your heart of light and love hidden deep inside you and then go in for the kill. They enjoy killing love. It's a sick and satanic pleasure. But I don't believe that all dark beings are totally the same. I may be mistaken but I have heard of higher dark realms of archdemons and other high dark entities and higher levels of darkness that span beyond planets, the galaxy, and the cosmos.

I have heard theories of higher realms of light and higher realms of dark. The angels, the archangles, and the demons and archdemons.

Are there dark Gods? Gods of unlimited evil and insanity.

I wonder if my understanding of the word "dark" is correct. Or maybe dark and evil aren't quite the same from a spiritual view.

I just wonder what are the "strengths" or admirable qualtiies from darkness. What is something positive I can take from the darkness. Good people with hearts of golden light and love. And then dark beings of heart of cold blue. If life throws me lemons I will make lemonade. If life throws me demons what will I make of them?

They say negativity makes you stronger and pain builds character. Basically to sum it all up, I wonder what are the "special" qualtities of them or are they total garbage souls.

Why associate darkness with such negativity? I find darkness in itself to be rather soothing, relaxing, and beautiful.

We're all good petersonad, and we're all evil

it's just a concept, and objectively it doesn't make any sense whatsoever

good people, bad people, that's all bullshit
we're all the same, and when we do something "dark" or "evil", it all comes down to fear.

I'm assuming that you've had at least some contact with Christian culture, even if you've never been one yourself. The Christian bible does have a tendency to use "darkness" and "light" as a metaphor for "evil" or "the lack of God" versus "good" or "godly," and that's had a large impact on Western culture and the way we use the two concepts.

The way I see it, even the Christian bible uses darkness as a metaphor rather than having an actual hate-on for unlit rooms. After all, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me." In theory, people who follow this philosophy wouldn't need to fear the darkness, because they carry the light inside them.

I am not a Christian. I believe in a philosophy that balances the dark and the light, and I associate the darkness with different things than you do. Darkness is the soft soil of the Earth, crickets chirping on a summer night, the merciless beauty of winter, the softness of a pillow in your warm bed; it's the moon, and the domain of the Goddess. Light is the burning light of the sun, playing soccer on a grassy field, the scorching heat of a drought, the time that you fulfil your life's work, and the domain of the God. Both contain things that can harm you; both contain things that are vital to our everyday lives.

I have heard theories of higher realms of light and higher realms of dark. The angels, the archangles, and the demons and archdemons.

Are there dark Gods? Gods of unlimited evil and insanity.
I certainly don't think so, but what do you believe? I think that we tell stories in an attempt to understand the world around us. The concept of light and dark in balance can help me better understand the world by remembering that pain and joy are both a part of life, and while I don't enjoy pain, the fact that I suffer through it hasn't erased joy from my world.

What do the stories of archangels and demons teach you? What questions do they ask you to ponder? In what ways (because all stories do this to some degree, including mine) do they blind you to the world around you?

They say negativity makes you stronger and pain builds character. Basically to sum it all up, I wonder what are the "special" qualtities of them or are they total garbage souls.
Do you believe that a person who has experienced negativity and pain, yet treats people with respect and tries to do good in the world, has a "garbage soul?" I think that your actions in this world are what truly matter.

      ...

Then again, I based my username and avatar off of Lucifer (the lightbringer!) in a comic book, so there's that.

Darkness. Space. Space is Darkness? No. Space is Clear. Space being Clear, the Light can Travel it's Lightyears. If it were Black, there would be no Light. Blackholes? One could say that a Blackhole is Hiding the Light. Which is one quality of Darkness, as the Ninja know.

I'm not sure why light would be love, and darkness would be all of those negative qualities. Light to me seems more like knowledge, information, and maybe even existence.. Darkness would be the absence of light... that which does not exist, there is no information or knowledge. Darkness would be nothing, light would be something. It makes more sense to me this way.

Post Thoughts From A Dark Worker

An Interpretation of a Black Hole.

Well in my opinion it's just an energy like everything else, light, fire, water, air, earth etc. Humanity's structured and mainstream beliefs is what labels it as a negative and scary thing described in text and media. Indeed someone who is infused with darkness can do the things humans fear like murder and rape but it can also happen with those infused with light. To me those "horrendous" actions are just the animal instinct of any creature when threatened or wanting some pleasure. Energy just functions as a tool for those wanting to achieve what they want and need in the process.

      Personal Experience:
      - In my personal experiences since I work with darkness; it is strength, protection, freedom, lust, mystery and the unknown. It excites me, cradles me as if I'm its child and could come in different forms, physical and not. It can be visually identifiable, for example: black clouds, mist that excretes out the body, black aura, and plainly anything black.

I've been trying to merge with darkness for years now. I want to be a part of it since it feels like such a completion to me: free, powerful, animistic in ways that just... feel right. I have had dreams where my room has filled up with a black life substance as I would. Call it a fetish or what not but I would say that I'm a nyctophile. Something about being in darkness reacts with my nerves. My body tightens up and sweats as I feel a sense of an energy rush through me, feeling as if darkness is flowing through me.

I also make a tradition on eating anything that is black: black olives for one. And I like to wear all black clothing when I can since it makes me feel as if I'm being in the element.

      Biological etc.:
      - I see the root of darkness, down to its simplest of form, as just another animal. I'll give an example using black holes. When a planet is near a black hole, it is dragged to its center, we can say it looks to be that it devours the planet like a predator does to its pray. And what is the general observation of when that happens? The predator will grow in size after consumption, much like black holes upon other things.

Deep down to its root it's just an energy that acts and reacts from the environment around it. "True" darkness doesn't have color and light cannot penetrate it. That's why I think of black holes as made of darkness though nothing. Darkness is flexible with many properties that come from it.

I do see a lot of the basic human science of astronomy and chemistry of dark matter helps with understanding darkness. I, personally like to focus on the "biological" part of it.

Well physically sPeaking darkness is the absence of light, so an absence of energy, but I'm guessing this is more a spiritual/philosophical question :p.

Hmmm...As I see it, if darkness was the absence of energy then it would have to be the absence of all the other forms energy as well. Even the scientific ones like kinetic.

Kinetic energy can be converted into light and heat, broadly speaking. Nothing, though? It's hard to convert Nothing into Something.

      They're all just metaphors.

Darkness is ignorance, black hole ,dark soul ,when you can't explain it you dismiss it as evil you are on your guards in a dark surrounding you expect the worse never a nice surprise it's not the same when you choose to stay in your room with the lights off you find it soothing you are not afraid of the darkness you are one with it ,
Light is seeing everything you are in control you have time assess any situation with clarity of the mind and vision
We are afraid of the darkness because we are afraid of the unknown .black is my favorite color and so CHIC
