      God = Satan.

      I just had a conversation with a friend of mine and this theory came out:

      God = Satan.

      Becouse if god would exist, I am personally a atheist, he would be allmighty right? So he could do Anything he would want.

      Then he could prevent any living soul from going to hell. He is allmighty, he can. Even when people screw up their lives, isn't there good in all of us? Isn't it education.

      At the very least he could re-incarnate them in a different environment to see what happens. 9 out of 10 times some person that would have joined the ' Cribs' would not have joined them if his father was a rich african bussinessman and he would go to harvard.

      And that 1 in 10 times, that person is evil in his hart (brain). But God MADE him.

      So god makes people messy so they are allmost garuanteed to go to hell?

      If god would sent people to Hell he would allso be Satan. Like Ying and Yang, good and evil.

      That, or satan would be equally powerfull (and this just as much reason to worship him lololol). And satan could like ' steal ' people away from heaven into hell though sin.

      ? ^___^

      There is only the one God. But God is not a guy on a cloud with a white beard controlling situations and creating everything. And what is termed satan is not a guy with horns and a pitchfork, who upsets everything that the guy in the white beard created that was good. You get this from old old unevolved spiritual understanding of life. Which is close to the stone age. Humanity spiritually seems to be in the stone age.

      Satan is merely a term for adversary to good. And God is basically the term for the one source existing.

      Dude, thought I'd come join the battle.

      Dean, good to see you man. Yeah, I saw your post on Keysters and thought I'd check this out. Looks like a cool place. I think I'll do some "wrestling" on some of the more logical points these guys are making. Take a few chunks out of the faithbusters, but we'll see if its me or them that is the spanker and the spankee. Time'll tell.

      God = Satan DING DING DING DING!

      Neruo,

      Actually you being an Athiest makes your question very simple.

      You see, everybody beleives in a God...everybody. God is the highest power you are aware of. In the case of an Athiest, the highest power he is aware of is himself, so he is his own God. (Excepting in cases where you might have a dominating girlfriend or wife, in which case, she might be your "higher power" )

      If you are like everyone else, you have postive tendancies and negative ones. Since you are your own God, your positive side and negative side coexist in the same Self, so you are correct, for an Athiest, God=Satan in the sense that your postive tendancies and negative tendancies coexist in the same identity, you.

      Most profound. My hat is off to you Neruo. I should become an Athiest; the calculations are much simpler.

      Hold on, now.

      I think we're dishonoring Satan a little bit here.

      ptahsokar,

      You really have a point. 'God' is a metaphore for the highest power 'known' to a person. You could say I think I am my own god, I know I don't have superpowers (to bad^_^ ) but I do believe that I have the most power over my life that anyone could have. I can do both good and bad, I can choose. People that believe in god (and therefore satan) can choose aswell, ( if there is a thing as "free choice",) but god and/or satan influence them contantly. God and satan are in my point of view just a metaphore for good and bad tendencies.

      That is why I allso believe that the idea, the message behind christianity is good, it's about good. Belive in god means doing 'Good' things.. The rejecting of satan stands for the rejecting of 'bad' things.

      The way of splitting good and bad in god and satan used by most religions is a way to 'not get things mixed up'. If there would be just one thing, satan and god put together, It wouldn't be 'bad'/againts the religion to do both good And evil things. The seperation is there so people can follow 'the good'.

      Most religion is about caring for each other and believe in 'the good'. Religion has done alot of good things, way more religious people do good things for the poor and such. However alot of evil has allso been brought by religion. Like wars and afversion of science and hate against everthing not totally enlined with their point of view.

      I do not hate the religion it self, it's the larger part of the people that use religion in a way it was not intended. (and the fact that it all doesn\'t actually exists ^__^ )

      There is no Satan. Have you ever pondered that. The very Devil

      Certainly, Howetzer. I know there's no Satan.

      But if I'm wrong and there is one, he's pretty damned weak.

      To the contrary, if your wrong and there is a devil, he would seemingly have more control than that of God at this point, No?

      Probably, assuming there's a God.

      But not more control than us.

      -------

      (Even if God were omnipotent, that doesn't mean he will exercise control... if he were omnibenevolent on top of it... he would give great power to the people he loved and let us be free... yep, kind of like what we have today).
