Has anyone read the new book by the Richard Dawkin? It is called 'the God Delusion'. I think I am going to order that book. On alot of points I totally agree with Richard Dawkin, judging by some of his interviews on the Internet. And in contrary to me, he probably has the languishtic skills to present his points in a good way, whereas my arguments often seem like uncertain muttering.

Point is, I think I am going to like that book. Has anyone read it, heard about it or has an oppinion about it?

I just read the first part of this book. It is totally kick ass.

I advise everyone to read the book. Both athiest are thiest, but especially agnosts that, with some factual knowledge mixed with Dawkins great writing skills might see the light... of logic. : )

yeah, heard a lot about "The God Delusion"

haven't read the book, but listened to a few radio interviews with the guy

      I love his thinking
      paraphrasing here, but in essence

"Christians have denounced the existance of all gods except their own God
they don't beleive in Zeus, Ares, Mars or Apollo or any of the other gods held by any other religion
I'm only denouncing one more god than they are
      I'm only going one further
I don't believe in the Christian god, either"

      seen the book around,
but haven't gotten around to buying it

Yea I love that; "I only believe in one less god than you!"

I've read most of his other stuff but have gotten behind, I still have "The Ancestor's Tale" sitting on shelf unread, I think I got that for Xmas last year. One of these day I'll get to both of these latest. Anybody who can read Dawkins and still deny evolution is not interested in the truth.

Yeah Dawkins really does know he is talking about, him being a biologist or something.

And I just finished reading 'The God Delusion'. It's pretty darn cool. I really like the way dawkins put the chapters together, it feels like it really takes the subject appart to adress every point specificly. Like an argument should do (without forgetting the bigger picture).

I also Love the fact that in the newpaper we have at home there have been 5 or 6 articles, written by Christians or agnosts for Sure, that totally Rip on the book. Especially hilarious is when they use some of the weak arguments Dawkins exactly describes.

Also hilarious, If I would write a bad book, it wouldn't reach a newspaper. A book that needs 5 or 6 articles in a month, a single book, must be a book that has something special. Like with madonna records, the more people rip on it, the better it sells. And reading most books don't harm anyone... unless if it's the bible or koran

      -

Anyone who thinks about reading the book: Do so. It's written quite well, and seems like it is written to break every taboo about religious critisism (since you can have critisism on political oppinions, on social oppinion and even on what soccer club you like, you still can't have critisism on religion freely).

If you are Christian and read it, it will piss you off. But it pisses you off as much as any well-speached athiest debating you, and alot of Christians arn't used to it.

Even better, if you are a Christian, I say to you: Go into the streets and protest this book. It is your right to do so. And it will make the book sell better.

      -

Point being: Maybe somewhat harsh the book may be, I hope it will open some eyes
