I love egyptian mythology... |

I would personally have to say Greek, but the other two are very interesting aswell. I have read pretty much about the Greek and Norse, altough not as much about the Egyptian. |

Anubis is pretty cool. Ares would kick his ass, though. |
|
They are all intersting to me, but if I have to choose I'd say Norse. They are so cool with their warriors, battles, honour etc. |
|
I like the greeks. Old men had sex with young boys, what more do you want? |

definitely norse simply because when you die you fight forever |

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Greek mythology is endless. |
|
I choose greek it is funny , freaking stupid and it hard to believe that people believe in that stuff back then. |
|
Agreed. I'd say something about stupid beliefs today, but we'll try to keep this on-topic, eh? |

I like the Greek Myths best becuase they are so funny and yet wise. The Gods are so human in thier mindset and I relate well to them. |

There can be myths about historical figures, but historical figures aren't myths in and of themselves. |
|
Definitely Egyptian! I have always been fascinated in their culture and belief system. They were great architects and geniuses in terms of their burial methods. |

That's a valid point, which is why it may be a good idea to start a new thread. It was my impression that this discussion was intended to discuss these types of mythology in particular. Otherwise, I'm sure the author of the thread would have made an option for 'other.' |

Jesus is as much a Myth as Odissay or Hercules. |
|
“What a peculiar privilege has this little agitation of the brain which we call 'thought'” -Hume
Not really. Jesus has been established, through sources outside of the Bible, to have been a historical figure. |

Norse mythology is pretty cool, but Greek mythology is even cooler and there's more of it. The Iliad beats everything, and Heracles is cool. Have a look at Alan Gibbons' trilogy about the Gamemaster. Starts with "Shadow of the Minotaur", and the last book is "Warriors of the Raven". The first is set in Greek mythology , the last in Norse mythology. Both are interesting, but the Greek one deals with a much more consistent, understood world, where the Norse myths are to some extent lost or incomplete. |
|
It's a shame that we lost so much of the barbaric myths. |
|
I agree. I've done countless school projects and essays on ancient Egypt. I even mummified a rabbit for my senior exit project! hehe, yeah a little morbid but it was cool. |
