... to convince me that God or a god exists.
He's eating your breakfast right now. Convinced?
eh if you don't believe then nothing anyone is going to say to you is really going to change your mind.
If you actually look for God you will find Him. Unless you're like most people here, who immediately think God is impossible and don't even consider it.
Read about Bible prophecies. They are not "vague" and they have been proven to be correct.

If someone can "convince" you that God exists, you shouldn't believe them anyway. That is for you to find out, alone. If you look for proof of God in the sensory world, you will be looking a *damn* long time...
First of all you contradict yourself so I don't know exactly what you mean with your last post.
Second, you misunderstand what I am saying. By alone, I was referring to someone else "convincing" you that God existed instead of establishing a personal relationship with God. It can only be found within.
God can always be "found" (if the expression is permissible) because there is nowhere God doesn't exist. It is we who close ourselves off to understanding this by thinking we are separate from God, and so we must open ourselves up to allow God to work through us. Even Christianity teaches this; I don't understand your differentiation in this regard.
If you look for Him, He will help you find Him. :P
That's what I meant.
personally I dont believe in God(s) but...
by asking people to prove to you that God(s) exist you are not saying what it would take for you to be convinced.
For example if God talked to you would you be convinced or think you are crazy? If there was a miracle healing in front of you would you be convinced or say it was luck? Do you want someone to prove it logically? then read one of the threads about the start of the universe or life or all the other things on here...
come on why dont you believe that an invisible giant in the sky controls the universe
All is revealed in due time. If you need convincing then you are not ready. If you truly want to know, the truth will blend with your reality in a way only you can understand...
Undeniably, after that, trying to convince others will be impossible... But at least the experience will leave no doubt in your mind.
like when you make a cookie and skittles milkshake... the blending of two powers will be beyond your imagination, the flavour ans texture of the cookies mixed with skittles will take you to a higher plain of being, but after no one will believe you that bledning cookies and skittles into a milkshake is nice, no matter how hard you try:(:p
Why should we consider that there might be a God when you would never consider the possibility that there might not be. No matter how much logic is put on the table to support the claim that there is no God, you guys just automatically spout off some nonsense about how you just have to have faith.
I really doubt that. I think that any atheist considers a very very small chance that god might exist.
I think what you said is mostly wrong and that it's the other way around. You immediately think that god not existing is impossible and you don't eaven consider that possibility.
And besides no matter how many "prophecies" you show me, it won't prove anything besides that someone wrote something that can get interpreted in a thousand different ways etc.
Ok, first off, I'm going to assume that by "you guys", you mean a certain few individuals on the forum, and not members of Christianity entirely, because that's horribly generalized and bias sounding.
Anyway. Is that not the way things are anyway? You do have to have faith in things, do you not? What true proof is there of most anything? When you go to the doctor, and he tells you you're sick and need a certain pill to get better, you have no proof in front of you that that pill will do anything to solve your sickness. But you have faith that the doctor knows what he's saying, and you take the pill.
Also, one thing that has helped to convince me of a higher being, would be just how perfectly everything on this planet seems to work together to make a functioning world. One could say this is just evolution, but still, the whole design seems just too amazing to be just a random chance that we'd all be here. That, along with the children of Fatima. In case you didn't know, they claimed that the Virgin Mother Mary came to them, and told them of three miracles. They told others of them, and they came true. One of which, was the day that the sun danced. The children predicted it, and then it came true, and they say that an estimated thirty thousand to one hundred thousand people witnessed the event.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm definitely not the most religious guy, I don't ever go to church, nor do I want to, and I don't even believe full on in the Catholic/Christian religions. I just believe in a higher being, not necessarily "God" or "Jesus", but something.
I feel the exact same way about most of you actually.Quote:

But I have considered the possibility that there is no God. I don't know why you think I haven't. I've said it multiple times on this forum. And I've hardly seen any evidence that God doesn't exist.
Why cant you all just get along :p.
Thats it.... RANT!
Okay firstly, Blind faith just doesnt cut it... Blind faith does just what it says, it makes you blind, blind to all of the other possibilities you close your eyes too the second you unwaveringly accept the god belief system. I can see why some people would find having discussions with a hardcore religious person insanely infuriating. (if i knew how to add the head banging against a wall smilie id add it here)
And to the people that dont believe in a god. The human race isnt nearly intelligent or knowledgable enough about the universe to disprove the existence of a god... yet... , to blindly say that a god can't exist is quite frankly infuriating too. People moan about religious types being close minded but it works both ways...
People who create their belief systems around whats currently known in science and argue it unwaveringly (love that word) should be slapped. Scientists call them theories for a reason, science is always evolving and learning new things, correcting past mistakes and updating itself.
Mankinds on a voyage of discovery and it may well end in the discovery that a god exists, or it may end up proving one doesnt, either way you should sit back and relax... stop trying to ruin the ending for everybody else.
I personally don't believe that there is a god, but i am not attacking like some people, constantly trying to disprove a god to those who are religious, i respect everyones beliefs, i don't believe in god or any form of god, i could put up good arguments but too be honest everyone has a right to a belief and it can't be nice to have it attacked, but if people try and force their beliefs onto me then i will force across my views and make them realise who i am, also why should i believe in something which has no evidence to prove it, its like saying i should believe in a flying spaghetti monster, you would all call me crazy would you not, but you could apply that to god aswell. thats my input anyways
lucid_seeker:
The flying spaghetti monster is obviously a human creation. But it is much much different than believing in God: God can't be a human creation because humans can only create ideas by using other ideas they already have. They can't create an entirely knew idea like God. They need God to reveal Himself to them which He has done for all of us.
I am not out to prove Christians wrong. I am out to understand exactly why they believe what they believe. If there are awesome arguments for the existence of God, I very much want to know what they are in their entirety. I want to understand the best arguments supporting God's existence as well as I possibly can. If God exists, I want to know.

How much more proof do you need?!
I'm not going to say much for the time being, but I don't think that a non-Bible reader should be telling a Christian what the Bible says... I don't care who told you what ever facts you think you know about the Bible because some guy told you, you are the one who has to see them to understand them. Like the argument the Bible is full of contradictions (I love that one, they never know what to say after I ask them "like what?") if you have not read the Bible do not use thing you know nothing about to argue your point, it makes you look ignorant, and well... dumb. /endrant
