Things like that really make my blood boil. I hope you jumped in there and told the kid that all male apes masturbate and that Jesus did too even if he didn't admit it. Tell him that ALL priests and preachers masturbate. Not masturbating is like not pissing. Semen can't just build up and not go anywhere.

Masturbation is just as natural as eating or sleeping, just as the other poster said. I believed this when I was a Christian and I believe it now when I am not. Making someone feel terrible and telling them they are acting against God by performing something so natural is completely WRONG. It's damaging to kids, I would know, I felt the same guilt when I was first caught by my parents.

And studies have been done and statistics have shown that 95% of males masturbate and 75% of females. And the rest lie because they are so embarrassed because their parents brought them up to think it was something terrible and disgusting. Why are you (obviously not all of you) so afraid of sex? What is the deal??? For goodness sakes, if Christian teens are taught that condoms are evil and abstinence is the only way then at least let them masturbate in peace!

I said nothing about helping the semen production. I am talking about expulsion of semen that has been built up. At some point, what has been built up has to be released. That is why the dedicated Christians on that web site couldn't find it within themselves to refrain from masturbation. It's like trying not to piss EVER. Even if you don't masturbate or have sex with somebody else, you are going to have a sexual dream that releases the semen. Lust will take you over at some point, and there's nothing you can do about it. Do you think balls can just keep getting bigger and bigger until they explode?

Wow. No, is the short answer.
Males (more than females on an average) feel the need to release sexual energy more often than their partner is able to be there for them (work 40 hours a week, different work hours, College, kids, etc.) And there is no "usurping" going on, I can jerk-off and still have passionate, emotional sex with my wife.

Masturbation being disgusting, repulsive, nasty, and every other word religions have come up with, was originated because of men who were scared of vaginas (virgin birth???) and feared their own penises (circumcision???) I respect people's belief in religion (considering I was there and thoroughly convinced for a long time) but making children feel bad, dirty, sinful, and self-loathing over something that 95% of them feel the strong compulsion to do after puberty and is a natural bodily function is freaking sad.

Sperm cells, and all the cells in the stuff produced that make up semen, actually dies naturally after a few days, like every other cell in your body (I believe it were five days for the sperm cells, but correct me if I'm wrong). After they die, the stuff that makes up these cells is broken down, and put to use again by producing other cells with it (be they sperm cells, or anything else). So: Sperm cells, as well as all the rest produced to make up semen, doesn't just 'build up'... In fact: It is actually broken down and 'recycled' after a few days...

Therefore, you won't build up semen until you explode... It's impossible... Unless you're balls, your reproductive system, and better yet: Unless your entire 'cell-recycling mechanisms' are defect in some way... In which case you'd explode either way: either from your sperm cells, or your blood cells, who will (die and) 'build up' in your veins, until they say 'splat', or your stomach acid (etc., etc.)...

I didn't mean to sound rude, and I still don't mean to if I do. I was just saying that the human body can release or eliminate semen without "help" - meaning masturbation.

I respect people's belief in religion (considering I was there and thoroughly convinced for a long time) but making children feel bad, dirty, sinful, and self-loathing over something that 95% of them feel the strong compulsion to do after puberty and is a natural bodily function is freaking sad.

Just because it's a "strong compulsion" doesn't mean it's biologically driven. A strong desire to do something doesn't make it natural; if it did, we'd have fewer, shorter criminal cases in our courts. Most people who disapprove of masturbation for faith-related reasons argue that the motivation and the thoughts that lead up to and through the act generally involve some sort of sexual fantasy (often about another person who you're not married to), and that is clearly defined as adultery in the Bible.

On a similar note, I'm not sure I understand how it is a "natural bodily function." Is cutting yourself a natural bodily function? Or punching yourself in the face? Or even just tickling yourself for fun? Urination is natural, breathing is natural, but masturbation replaces the biologically-designed and required partner. Scientifically speaking, it's quite unnatural.

One last thought: Just because they're Christians, and they admit to it, still doesn't mean it's necessarily unavoidable or acceptable to them. Often, the issue is addiction, and addictions are, by definition, very difficult to give up.

I'm a Christian and I found masturbation wrong for one reason only: because whether you like it or not you're going to have lustful thoughts. And that is a sin. Now I'm not going to say I've never done it, and don't do it, I just find it better to get it over with then to not do it and constantly be thinking about it, so what I try and do is stop for a bit until I really have to, it really is like an addiction.

My talk about exploding balls was hyperbole, but the urge to masturbate can build up to being just as strong as the urge to piss when you haven't pissed in 24 hours. There's a reason for that.

2. Nature doesn't create anything - it's not a person. Things just happen in nature. Saying it like you said it implies intelligence and purpose.

That was my point way in the beginning: Nocturnal emissions don't involve your hand, they're spontaneous and involuntary. Besides, Satan doesn't make anybody sin.
