Yes, but in a proximate manner. The real question is "what is the ultimate origin of natural occurances and nature itself?" Maybe in finding the answer to this, we will discover the "fingerprints" of a creator...or maybe we won't. I just don't see a point in completely dismissing the possibility at this point in time. We are still very much in the dark when it comes to that kind of a question, and in my opinion, if god is going to be found anywhere in this universe, it would be there... at the base of it all.
But needless to say, we have a long way to go before we can cross that bridge. In the mean time, I like to leave room for the unknown. After all, redefining what's possible is what science does. It just takes time, patience, and insatiable curiosity. Science shouldn't let anything get in the way of that, be it theism or athiesm.
