      Theists and delusion

Theists are 100% certain that their own faith is the one true faith... However, since there can't be more than one true faith, we at least know that most of them are wrong. Whether god exists or not... we still know with absolute certainty that at least most theists are delusional.

Who cares. Let them believe what they want to believe. Most of the people in this world are delusional and ignorant about something or other.

^^ I would let them, but for crying out loud I want to have a president who doesn't even think about mentioning religion during his speeches. Among all the other problems.

You mean... instead of one that God himself speaks to? Common, we have the divine spirit guiding our country. Lulz.

Aqua, I, for the most part, do let them believe whatever as that's their business, but whenever they either pose the argument against me or they try to convert me or talk to me about Christ or whatever, then I need my arguments to be top notch so that they'll learn not to try and convert Stephen.

Today somebody walked up to our table at lunch and sat down, and I was like, "Aww damn... here we go." Then they asked if we wanted to join the army. I support the troops and love em and all, but it pretty funny. Then once they left somebody went, "Almost as bad as Christians."

And this why we don't vote Republican. But then again, all of the potentials bring up their 'faith' at one point or another. Evil people these politicians.

The reason they bring it up is because the vast majority of voters are religious, and in this country, that means Christian. And they want those votes.
So they'll say anything to get them. Doesn't mean they actually are Christian or whatever. Just like Obama. To the muslims, he's a muslim pretending to be Christian. To the Christians, he's a converted Muslim. To the women, well, he's attractive.
To the blacks, he's a black, etc................He'll probably win.

So argue about the president, not religion as a whole. You seem incapable of even narrowing it to the president's religion.

I've seen it. What relevance does that have to my comment? I was suggesting that Mes needed to expand her vocabulary if she had a problem with the President and his religion, Christianity; since she is only capable of talking about 'religion'.

T'was a jest, my friend. Saying politicians are evil is like saying all lawyers are evil. It's not actually true...but it is possible.

Oh, you are saying that people ought to call out the religions/peoples/things they have issues with rather than things in general..?

If that is the case; I completey agree then.

I think it was wishful thinking on her part. Not an attack on any president, but i don't want to put words in anyone's mouth. I know i certainly wish for a president that doesn't pander his religious beliefs out there because there are bigger issues out there. But it is a quite easy way to get votes. There is a staggering amount of people who base their votes on religion. Oh we'll just say Christianity if we want to be specific. I have not seen anyone run for president who wasn't a Christian or from a religion that wasn't derived from Christianity. (I may be mistaken though). But the point is to have someone be president who is looking out for everyone, not just his/her personal sect of fellow believers.
That's just my two cents is all.

That is my major complaint about the USA in a nutshell.

You have the whole world at your disposal. Why live here if you have such a problem with it? Russia would probably welcome you.

      This is embarrassingly ignorant.

If someone loves the US, shouldn't they be concerned when someone else is hurting it in their eyes? Shouldn't they be protecting the parts of their country that matter to them?

Would YOU run to Russia if someone started doing things you didn't like to the US?

Did the US suddenly become a Christian country, or has it always been one. Or are you hundreds of years old?

Yes you are probably right. I really wish Christians would stop caring enough about their politicians' beliefs that someone could announce that he was Jewish and not be affected in any way.

I hope Obama doesn't win, because as you suggest, he will probably get most of his votes because he's black, young, "attractive," etc. The religious bit might hurt him a little, but who knows if the mainstream public is even aware of it. Anyway, all I see in him is inexperience... surely all those other qualities won't matter when it comes down to it.
