      McCain advisor: Destroy Islam

      http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id...tionid=3510203
Televangelist Rod Parsley, a key McCain ally in Ohio and his spiritual adviser, has called for eradicating Islam as a 'false religion'.

Senator John McCain hailed Parsley, as the Ohio megachurch pastor called upon Christians to wage a "war" against Islam to destroy it.

On February 26, McCain appeared at a campaign rally in Cincinnati with Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus. During the rally McCain called the evangelical minister a "spiritual guide."

The leader of a 12,000-member congregation, Parsley has written several books outlining his fundamentalist religious outlook.

Parsley in his book "The 2005 Silent No More" in a chapter titled "Islam: The Deception of Allah," warns there is a "war between Islam and Christian civilization."
He also calls Islam an "anti-Christ religion", urging the US to launch a new crusade to eradicate Islam.

In the past Parsley's church has been accused of engaging in pro-Republican partisan activities in violation of its tax-exempt status.

McCain's relationship with Parsley is politically significant. In 2004, Parsley's church was credited with driving Christian fundamentalist voters to the polls for George W. Bush.

I hope McCain didn't know about all of that lunatic stuff when he dropped a quick comment about the reverend. It looks like McCain probably just made a nice little political comment in passing. I doubt McCain knew what a nut the guy was when he called him a "spiritual teacher". I'm sure we have all complimented people without knowing they said things just as crazy or crazier.

I'm afraid Parsley is one of the most influential nutjobs in the country. Anyone in the GOP that doesn't know who he is and what he stands for couldn't get nominated to fetch coffee.

But don't worry UM, our war's not a crusade. It's just the world's most prominent Christian nations occupying the Holy Land while claiming counsel from God to vanquish "evildoers." Everyone knows crusades involve swords and popes.

Besides, even if it were a crusade, there are rational, moral imperatives for being there--that makes it doubleplusgood

      It doesn't surprise me.

Guerilla's Advisor: Destroy Neo-conservatives and Mccain

And there goes another reason to hate religions

ALL RELIGIONS, I respect their followers who follow religion casually, but people who devote their lives to religion and say other religions are evil are complete lunatics and extremists.

There aren't just Islamic terror, theres christian terror also, and this is a good example.

The crusades never ended, just dormant, this is the new crusade, dumber then the last.

Of 2 billion islamics/muslims, i ASSUME, about 1% of their populace contains extremists

so john mccains solution to islamic terror is to kill the other 99% who are completely innocent and live their lives like we do?

We must destroy people who do these things, not a bunch of people who just follow a religion.

Yes, you're right; this is the kind of self deceiving justification many right wing voters (especially in the south) will make in order to still vote for McCain with a clear conscience, or at least without sounding like fanatics themselves. Many of them will secretly want McCain to follow through with the Reverend's advise, after all. Who are you voting for, UM?

      Wow, Parsley the nuthead.

And Elis, unfortunately people will still vote for McCain, especially all the religious freaks. You've already seen it on this forum..

I've said it before, if McCain becomes prez, I'm leaving the US.

These type of relegious nut jobs have no place in a pluralist society, all they are doing is alienating muslims & american muslims even fruther, which is a shame.

Christian fundamentalists are responsible for the rut that america is in today. Electing Mccain would be a mistake. Im not saying he is a christian fundamentalist but they do indeed hold a good amount of sway on him...

Notions of a clash of civilzatins should not be tolerated at all, These idiots are only talking this shit so they can hasten the rapture and/or the secound coming(Atleast thats what they beleive, which is total nonsense). They are not serving your countries interests they are just trying to fulfill some stupid prophecy. Im not even joking im almost sure thats what guides their views/policies on the middle east

Yeah, they've been talking a lot about Obama's pastor, lately. I thought it was hilarious how, on FOXNews, everybody that Allan Combs asked if McCain should receive any backlash for what Parsley said completely ducked the question, including Sean Hannity.

Obama's stating that he "didn't know" about Rev. Wright's message, for the 20 years that he was pastor, raises an eyebrow for me, though.

If McCain really is that crazy, I will definitely not vote for him. I just don't think he is. I want to know the other side of this before I reach that conclusion. Bin Laden is a "spiritual guide", and I just called him one. That does not mean I think he is right or anything better than insanely evil. I know that plenty of people in the Republican party are Christian fascists. I don't think McCain is one of those, but if he is, he does not need to be the president.

You know how these people are. If you don't beleive EXACTLY what they do they thingk your going to hell. lol thats especially true for jehovah witnesses.

But the thing is that they are hung about is probably that they dont beleive jesus was the sun of god. They want everybody to beleive that jesus is the son of god and if they consider him a prophet thats not good enough they want them to beleive in the whole package.

That's exactly it. Muslims believe he's a prophet, Christians believe he's God. Now, as far as I can tell, you can only be one or the other, but I doubt that'll stop Christians from contradicting me.

Did anyone catch the Saudi Prince or King in making a speech to the press about a year ago when he stated that he must follow Islam and that all other religions are false religions?

There are plenty of ignorant mindsets on both sides of the pond. Blind, they do not see that all stem from the same essence. Pity those, and those who follow such "leaders".

Do you just not have any ability to recognize sarcasm? I also flat out said what I think without sarcasm in that first paragrapsh. I think ALL religious fascism is terrible and dangerous. However, the type that wants to kill me and everybody around me is the type I have the biggest problem with.

Uh, no. You are making an outlandish generalization if you think the entire United States is Christian fascist and wants to kill people just for being Muslim. If we were like that, the Middle East would be a sheet of glass with American flag decorated oil refineries all over it. Get real.
