While explaining Agnosticism to a Christian during school last week, I said, "Theism is belief in deities, while Atheism is..." She completed my sentence saying, "Believing in the Devil." She said it as if she was confident about it.

It's pathetic.

I'm ano Agnostic/Atheist, and I don't believe in the devil or Hell.

I think I just figured it out. Fundamentalists are spreading that lie so atheists can be more hated than we already are. It's about political power. What a sick hoax.

Typical, really. We're always so worried about tolerance towards religion. It seems religious has zero tolerance towards non-religion.

Atheists believe in the devil? Where'd that come from? A simple definition would be atheists don't believe in any sort of deity, good or bad, right?

Anyway, I don't believe in the devil as some being, like with the thorns and all that jazz. I do believe there is a force of evil of some sort, motivation, energy, I don't know, but there is evil, same as there is good. The devil is simply an allegorical representation of that.

Monday I plan to give a semi-lecture to a couple of misinformed kids at my school using several self-essay's I have written and many thoughts from people on this forum.

These people asked for it.

Both in the figure of speech and in the literal sense so I doubt they would attack me. I mean seriously if they did then that jsut proves that they have nothing to say or argue and are just venting frustration in light of the total destruction of their view of the universe.

I'll tell them that, too.

My goal isn't necessarily to make them atheist, just educate them on key subjects that they attmepted to argue but have no knowledge of.

Although when i went to my schools one off( wasn't meant to be but i think i stopped it..) "grill a christian" i tore the Christian youth worker guy to shreds. A small group of 8 people in a classroom turned into around 50 cos everyone wanted to hear me bombard him( and a jury of 5 Christians in my class, some friends, which was fun) with awkward questions, some which i knew the answers were not in the scripture( as in they have been twisted from scripture or just no verses really support it, assuming Christians only follow the NT). Most, bar two friends, said homosexuality could be cured.....

However this is England, pretty secular country these days, not sure how that would go in an American school. Your president states Atheists are not American citizens, maybe he will add legislation to that effect before he leaves.

Actually it was our presidents father, who used to be the president =P

Meanwhile, America is such a LARGE place that you can't really describe anything as "American." I say this because it really depends on where in the U.S. he is. There are many many tolerant places here, and there are many many intolerant places. But thankfully our law is a secular one, and while people are free to have religion, the law is made to allow us to be free from HAVING religion as well. As long as someone uphold the law, atheists should not be afraid to speak.

Meanwhile homosexuality can be cured, take one bullet and call me in the mor--er, take one bullet.

Meanwhile I used to live in Texas, I am now in school in Florida.

I told people I was atheist in Texas and aside from when I would speak my mind people would cut me off so that I couldn't actually say anything to them I wasn't that brutalized.

There was this one bum, rather large oaf of a man, who threatened me and got in my face quite often, but unfortunately for him I don't dislike pain as much as the rest of his fearful submissive friends, and he never even laid a finger on me. He was an angry fool held back by the law, or the fact that he knows he has no proof of his god's existence.


I tried to explain one time that "Even hitler only tortured his victoms to death" however they often cut me off at "Even hitler" saying "Hitler deserves to go to hell!"

I would then try to say it again, 4 or 5 more times in hopes that they wouldn't cut me off, I suppose they thought I was going to say "Hitler doesn't deserve to go to hell."

I think I clicked some buttons and put sentences together that don't make sense.
