      I believe because everything happens for a reason weather it can be explained or not. It happens in this certain way and besides physics there are other things behind it.

      There have been a million threads on this (just like every other topic in R/S these days).

      This is what I put in the "Why are you a Theist" thread;

      Humor? If it is, you're not funny, and putting a wity answer out there just because you can is what is causing all the forum trouble these days. Unless you're going for starting an argument here, don't post it at all. I hate that, and it's ruining my experience here.
      Seriously, if you want to be witty, prepare for 3 pages of arguments telling the same exact thing: Shut up, get out, and get over it. Do you really want this kind of post ruining every thread that anyone makes? No, I don't. I click on "Rate the whatever about the person above you" thread, and expect to see what the title says. Man, those were the good times when I could! Now, I click and expect to see "SHUT UP YOU AREN't HELPING" or "GET OUT I DON'T CARE" and random arguments all over the place. Go into any thread and say something like "Jews are a religious people, not a race" and see what happens. Then and argument sprouts, and someone makes a mistake in spelling, and someone posts a witty message such as "Lern 2 spel plz" and comes to an argument. It's a cycle.

      Back on topic, I seriously don't know. Probably because that's what the parents were taught, and what they learned from the parents, and it goesback to primitive people trying to explain the universe.

      Hey guys, I'm back. Feels good man

      I'm so happy right now...

      If kids were more independent thinkers at a younger age than I don't think there would be as many theists...

      If any part of your behaviour is conditioned or tempered by your religion or religious beliefs, then you really can't call yourself a 'free-thinker' in the strictest definition of the term.

      That is not to say that you are brainwashed, just that you structure your behaviour around your religious precepts. Hence, your actions are constricted and not free.

      If I understand your post correctly that would mean that belonging to any group with a set a beliefs (a political party, activist group, ect.) would mean that you're not a free thinker.

      You shouldn't take something and magnify it like that... You don't have to be an idiot to be brain-washed...

      It's idiotic when trying to prove a point... Also, the thread is called Why do people believe in God... If it was why do you believe in God, than we wouldn't get the atheists point of view...

      He used sarcasm because his argument wasn't compelling enough... Even if he doesn't realize it...

      So what you're saying is, free thinking is a myth.
