There is an outstanding youtube series dedicated to debunking all moon landing hoax theories and claims, there isn't a single one they couldn't explain logically or scientifically.

As for the rest, why would the Smithsonian cover up Egyptian Pyramids in the US? If there is one thing that scientists want for their careers, it is recognition in their field. If you had conclusive PROOF of pre-Columbus Egyptian involvement in the development of mainland American societies, you'd jump on that shit like a starving fat chick on a twinkie. Covering it up is in no ones best interest.

And consider that the more people you have involved in a cover up, the harder it is to keep everyone quiet.

I don't think most people who believe that the moon landing was a hoax are also flat earth'ers. Especially since a popular argument is that the shuttle couldn't have survived the trip through the van allen belt, and you would have to believe in a round earth in order to accept the van allen belt at all.

You misunderstand me. The moon landing hoax theory was originally perpetrated by Flat Earthers. They were the precursor for it, but this doesn't mean that all moon-landing hoax believers are flat earthers.

Also - it was a lander, not a shuttle Shuttles have only been around since the early 80's (which still makes them very old, most of us aren't even driving cars from 1980 anymore, let alone going into orbit and beyond). And the Van Allen radiation belt non-survival theory was debunked a long long time ago.

The weird thing about these conspiray theories is that you somehow never can be sure if it's true or not..

Like the moonhoax for example, howcome we had the technology to go to the moon 40 years ago, but no we don't ? Howcome they send people to the moon with the most crappy video and photographing material available? I mean they put billions and billions of dollars into the project, and then they decide to cut on the photographing material?! Who goes to the moon with a polaroid?! But then again, why the hell would you want to fake a moonlanding?

Look, not they i buy into the moon landing hoax. But there is good reason to fake one.

Sputnik was launched in the late 1950's, during a hotter part of the Cold War, by the 60's we were loosing the space race badly. So JFK said:

"First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him back safely to the earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish.

By 69 we had not done so, and we were loosing face, one can see where the motivation to beat the USSR in Space, and save face came from.

If you watch the documentaries that refute the hoax theory, you'll see that footage from the landings themselves could only have been shot in a vacuum environment with low gravity, something you can't simulate on Earth.

Along with a myriad of other pieces of evidence.

And we haven't been back to the moon because there is no glory in it anymore. There isn't any competition anymore. But when you see someone REALLY set their goal on Mars, you watch the space race start up again. And it's going to be a record breaker.
