Seriously, for one thing, blanket statements should not be used when referring to individuals. Not everyone who prays understands praying.

The truth is not found by asking - "What does it look like?"

What something looks like is found before even asking a question.

Bill, like many other atheists or whatever you'd like to call them, is generally caught up in the appearance of things rather than looking deeper into things.

Thanks for that link, that is pretty interesting. Still, Maher is practically an atheist, so it seems.

Also nice how he does own that Christian guy with the 'if you were born in Pakistan you wouldn't have believed in Jesus Christ' / arbitrariness-of-religion argument.

No it doesn't seem so. He says in plain english that he believes in God, he just doesn't believe in organised religion. That makes him a deist, not an atheist.

Actually, he seems to chose his religious label depending on what the current trend is, now a deist, then an agnostic, later an apatheist.

Whatever the fuck he is, some segments of his shows are pretty hilarious (New Rules), and this movie will probably be cool.

But generally there's some problems with Maher for me, such as him supporting the idiots and terrorists at PETA and delving into alternative medicine and similar nonsense, both of which don't really earn him the label skeptic or rationalist, making him a kind of so-so representative for criticizing religion. It's still better than nothing.

Also, if the dumbass clown Al Gore won a Nobel Peace Prize for making a shitty movie with exaggerated claims, so should Bill Maher for making this movie.

Not everything falls into relativism, there is the universal context which is quite widely ignored. This is the broader context I refer to; impersonal.
