I just had Christmas with my family. I love my family more then anything. There happened to be an interesting conversation while me and my brothers got together.
My older brother knows that me and my twin brother are militant atheists. Yet, my older bro always wants to talk about religion. If you ever met a militant atheist, then you know that we love that. Because we are usually more knowledgeable about religions more then the typical religious person.
I realized at this conversation, that there is no converting my older bro to our way of thinking (yes I am a twin, so when I say we, it's not schizophrenic) Religious people focus on faith very much. Let me just post the definition of faith.
(1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof
My brother stated proudly over the Christmas holiday that, and I quote "I am already teaching my child (my 3 year old nephew) about faith, by telling him about Santa"
I am not shitting you good people of Dreamviews. My theistic brother, compared his religion to Santa. I just sat on the porch, and said...... You pretty much just made my point. But yet, the point was not one that was made.
So can truth prevail over nonevidence? Can the people who believe in their faith change their belief system? To me belief means believing in something that shows evidence. Absence of evidence is ignorance.
Peace unto all humanity.
