      the devil...unintended pro-logic?

I decided to create this post because of this essay

      http://www.lucifer.com/lucifer.html

this man does not actually believe the devil exists, I want to make this clear from the start. However, I found it actually a very interesting essay that points out satan as a symbol for the very things our country was founded on. independent thinking, logic, not bowing to blind authority. I would invite most to take a read and comment (though I warn fundamentalists will be offended)

A warrior does not give up what he loves, he finds the love in what he does

Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.

I dont find it offensive at all. These are interesting thoughts. Though not intrinsically wrong of their own accord, these qualities appeal to people, and satan uses them as bait.

In fact, this is very interesting.

Reading it, it doesn't sound like he has much to back up his claims and that he is just being in very vague terms, and it sounds like a rant more than anything.

Though I do agree on the original sin idea. I do not believe people are born with sin, or are naturally sinful in any way. I know it is a common belief, but the idea of original sin isn't believed by all Christians.

I think there are generally two kind of Christians. The kind that just go through the motions, and the kind that really study and learn about the religion. The ones who blindly accept authority are the same ones who just go through the motions. Its not so much that the religion tries to remove logic and independent thinking, its just people of that type tend not to think things through very far.

People who really study and learn the religion however, can be intelligent people and can have strong beliefs(which may even disagree with some other Christians.). People like that are very independent in nature, yet still follow the same core beliefs.
