The WILD-DILD Relationship (36 Day Test)
The WILD-DILD Relationship
Introduction
First of all, welcome to my very first Lucid Dreaming Research experiment!
For the past few days, I've been attempting to WILD. Out of the 5 times I've tried to WILD, I've been successful 1 time. However, most of those attempts were foiled because I moved to much in SP, and I ended up just giving up and going back to sleep. Intriguingly when I did this, I went lucid 3 out of 4 of the failed attempts via DILD. Thus saying, let me introduce my hypothesis.
Hypothesis
I hypothesize that the preparation, attempt, and failed WILD during one's higher REM period will have a higher chance of inducing a LD when going back to sleep, as apposed to just falling back asleep.
Goal
The goal of this experiment is to determine what the percentage is of a person having a LD when falling back asleep from a failed WBTB-WILD attempt as apposed to just waking up and falling back asleep. As a supplement, I hope that in doing this experiment, any and all participants will notice an increase in their WILDing capabilities. Even if one doesn't fail during the WILD attempts and actually WILDs consistently, that in itself is a great goal and will be recognize in the data conclusion.
Periods
This experiment will take place in periods of 5 days; or in other words, you will attempted to WILD 5 days, then not attempt to WILD 5 days.
In other words:
Days 1-5: Attempt to WILD
Days 6-11: Do NOT attempt to WILD
Days 12-17: Attempt to WILD
Days 18-23: Do NOT attempt to WILD
Days 24-30: Attempt to WILD.
Days 31-36: Do NOT attempt to WILD
Method
Here is the format that will be used to share results:
[IF ON WILD PERIOD]
Time Went to Sleep:
Time When Woken:
Type of Awakening: [Natural or with External Stimuli (Alarm, etc)]
WILD attempt: [FAILED, SUCCESSFUL]
DILD: [YES, NO]
As an addition, if one awakes from the WILD attempt and goes back to sleep, please note the Time and whether a DILD was triggered after you went to sleep.
In other words:
1. Go to Sleep, recording the time you settled in bed.
2. Wake up [Naturally or Alarm triggered] 5-6 hours (or whenever you feel your REM period is longest) after going to bed. Record the time you woke up and how you woke up.
3. Perform a WBTB-WILD
3a. If failed, go back to sleep.
4. When you wake up, record the time you woke up. Also, record if your attempts were successful or failed, and record, if you failed to induce a WILD, whether you had a DILD.
[IF ON NON-WILD PERIOD]
1.Go to Sleep, recording the time you settled in bed.
2.Wake up [Naturally or Alarm Triggered] 5-6 hours (or whenever you feel your REM period is longest) after going to bed. Record the time you woke up and how you woke up.
3.Go back to Sleep.
4. When you wake up, record the time you woke up and if you triggered a DILD or not.

Please, if you have any feedback or suggestions on this experiment or wish to join, feel free to say or do so! However, I'm accepting to more than 15 people to participate officially in this experiment (If I can get than many )
Let the Science Begin ;)
Sorry, I made an error and had to extend one day longer than the others]
