7 Day Trial: Tea Before Bed

Someone in the Caffeine and Dreaming thread brought up experimenting with the effect of caffeine intake right before going to bed. I wonder if it will change anything about my dreams, increase my rate of LDs or change anything about my ability to fall asleep. I haven't had any caffeine at all for quite a while, so I'd be rather surprised if there were no effects whatsoever.

Here are some data about me and my dreams (so you can form your own opinions on the results I will post here every day from tomorrow, the 12th of April until Monday the 18th of April):

      Sleep data:
      - It usually takes me about one to two hours to fall asleep every night.
      - I sometimes take naps during the day, but not regularly.
      - I don't go to bed at the same time every night.

      Normal dream data:
      - I can usually recall two or three dreams per night, sometimes just one, though, and sometimes even four or five.
      - I estimate that about a fourth of my dreams appear as very long and consistent to me. The other ones are of normal or short length.
      - My dreams usually are quite vivid.
      - I rarely have nightmares.

      Lucid dream data:
      - I naturally have approximately one to three LDs a month.
      - I have never had any kind of LD but DILDs.
      - I have a dream diary that I've been writing in every day for approximately the past two weeks.
      - I have never set myself a task for my LDs before but just let them happen and flew around or eventually looked for people to talk to. Now I have a task, though, a simple one for the beginning: Licking various things, preferrably odd ones.

That's all I can think of at the moment. If you have further questions just ask me

How did this work out? I would think the Caffeine would make it more difficult to fall asleep, especially if you haven't had any for a long time.

As I'm a twat, it didn't work out at all. The first night, it didn't take me remarkably longer to fall asleep, but I couldn't recall any dream at all the next morning. The second night, I had a very hard time falling asleep, but I also had a lucid dream. After that, I forgot the tea before bed thing because I was too busy with university stuff.

I probably won't start this trial anew, though. Today I've been to my doctor and he said that I should try and get a sleep pattern as uniform as possible due to health reasons, so I better drop this experiment.

I'm sorry I started this thread in the first place and then didn't keep my promises.
