      LD as Therapy Tool

nesgirl119 suggested that this forum may be more applicable to my question.
Is there a group or team or individual using LD's as therapy? I am interested in exploring this area. Please advise.

Hi Martha. Welcome to the Research Forum! I read your post in the Reframing Trauma by Lucid Dreaming thread. That's really wonderful that lucid dreaming was so able to help you heal and recover from your struggles with anxiety and depression.

I think it was Starseed Shaman who first introduced this aspect of lucid dreaming as a research question, so you might try PMing him. I'm not aware of anyone else who's currently working in this area, but that certainly doesn't mean they aren't out there. Have you tried making a query post in the "Lucid Experiences" forum? You might find others there who are experienced with using lucid dreaming as a therapeutic technique, or even get some people interested and start up an experimental group yourself (in which case you could use this forum to organize, brainstorm, and conduct any experiments).

If you're looking for more information on the subject, Stephen LaBerge has a chapter on the subject in his book Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life ( which also comes with a CD with some LD induction tracks on it with which I had almost immediate success) and deals more in depth with the subject in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. Actually, I'm sure quite a few books on LDing address this potential benefit of practicing lucid dreaming, but I'm most familiar with LaBerge's work, which is why I mentioned those. Good luck, and let us know if you have any more questions.

I thought of Astral Shaman but he has not visited since mid-August and thought I would try active members first. Thanks for your advise, on to "Lucid Experiences."

I'm a somatic therapist, trained in both psychotherapeutic and somatic techniques and with all the appropriate degrees. I definitely believe in the therapeutic efficacy of lucid dreaming, but a lot of it has to do with the mental stability and capacities of the individual.

If you would like to PM me, I would be more that glad to respond with what I know so far from my own limited experiments in this area.
