Dream Sharing Theory
There is a factor involved in dream sharing that is philosophical in nature.
My belief system sets up the parameters for both my waking and dreaming experiences. If I believe in what's called a collective consciousness or collective mind, it becomes a meeting place for me to encounter other minds. The more I believe in this collective, the greater my chances of connecting. I believe it is this interconnectedness of existence that paves the way for dream sharing.

My friend Michael and I share a belief in the collective consciousness and in the possibility of shared dreaming.
Lucid Dream: Our intent was to meet in Costa Rica on the beach. In my dream I was in a tropical setting which I realized was Costa Rica. I became lucid and called for Michael to appear. He walked up to me and I said "Michael, this is it, we're dreaming together!" He seemed confused and walked away.
I followed him into some nearby forest. I saw a man I knew from our town and asked him where Michael was. He said "He's closer than you think."
I looked around but only saw trees. Then, slowly Michael's image began to form on the trunk of a tree. He then emerged from the tree and came over and hugged me.
The next morning in waking life I called Michael to see if he remembered anything from dreaming. When I told him the dream he said that I must come over to his house immediately. I drove to his house and he took me to his backyard. There he showed me a tree with his image carved onto it that he had carved the previous day.

I find your experience very interesting. Did the place in Michael's garden looked like the place in your dream? Had you been to Michael's garden before?

There were trees in Michael's backyard, but I had not been there before.
I seem to have the ability to enter dreams but have not had anyone enter mine. Perhaps there are transmitters and receivers in shared dreaming.
