Hypnotic/Psychological Lucidity Induction

Hello DreamViewers,
Now, it is not normally in my nature to post things here and I am generally lacking in talent as far as Lucid Dreaming. But this has lead me to somewhat of a conclusion. I am a very keep hypnotist and enjoy placing people into dream-states while under hypnosis while I think of something to do. It occurred to me that this dream state is very nearly identical to a WILD dream-state.

After looking into this and conducting some experiments I've found that lucid dreaming is very similar to hypnosis, a few of the similarities are: You have to want it to happen, you have to expect it to happen and you need to clear your mind of doubt about it. (which would explain the effect whereby some people just can LD, and others cant, as the doubt builds up.)

I do not want to go into great detail, as I fear it may hinder the experiment I am going to propose (even mentioning that may have had an affect), so, here is what I propose to do:
-Create a set videos/MP3 files that a user can listen to during the day, meaning that they can then have a lucid dream during the night.
-Ask if anybody would like to test aforementioned videos/MP3s and see if the results are as expected
-Ask for feedback after 1 week using the videos/MP3s, then possibly refine my videos/MP3s.

I am hoping to eventually have a set of videos and a small set of instructions on how to use them to achieve lucidity effectively and permanently, which we can eventually use to introduce newcomers to lucid dreaming.

So, basically, I want to know your thoughts on this idea and if anyone would be interested

I think it sounds like it'd be a lot of work for you, but it'd also be pretty cool. I'd be willing to be a guinea pig.

Although, i'm usually at work, so mp3 will be of more value to me during the day

I'm guessing the mp3s will be a sort of subliminal coercion to make an LD at night
and i suppose, as this being a scientific experiment, you will need to restrict the time duration of exposure to video/mp3, or at least have the testers record it.

Thanks for the many responses, first of all, I intend to distribute this course completely free of charge and would will people to distribute it to their own friends as well. I should have the files done by the end of this week at the longest. I will be in contact with sithis, neurosisfish and apsinvo as soon as the fills are done. For anyone else reading this, we shall post comments here, then from there I shall make changes to the files. I think that it may take a few iterations to get the files to their most effectiveness as I am going to have to carefully balance the psychology aspect with the straight-out hypnosis, which, obviously has never been done before so it may take a while.
The first set of files should just be audio, will be in contact very soon!

I've wanted a good lucid hypnosis mp3 for a while. Here's a good concept for you, perma-lucid dreamers- people who are always aware that they are dreaming while dreaming. In any case, send me that mp3, and I'll listen to it and report back. I would love something I could listen to in the day, and become automatically aware at night. Been hypnotized a bunch of times before, even have a lucid hypnotic mp3 as well I listen to, doesn't work too well though.

Terribly sorry to hear that, but that does push me toward some interesting conclusions.... Would you be up for a second bunch of MP3s, but this time more specified to you and your personal dream-signs, because this should remove the dependence on the 'perma-lucid' theory that me and Moto were talking about just up the thread, unfortunately this does mean that we will have to come up with another way of making people even sub-consciously know when their dreaming.

Hmm, I'm up for trying this - it's worth a shot. If you do give out MP3's specified for certain dream signs, perhaps I can tell you mine - my dreams usually involve friends, school, family and I usually see a girl I like often.

If you care, my only half-constant dream signs are swimming baths, other than that my dreams are currently completely erratic.

Okay, this is just a quick update on the state of things! virtually all people are getting hypnotised (great start!), and about 2/3 of the people are going into lucidity! Which is also really good considering that this is a first iteration. I am now working on a way to respond to the 'perma-lucid' based nature of the experiment, and think I have come up with a way that does not involve having to record a specific dream-sign based recording for each person. Apart from that I am also looking into ironing out some bugs... but apart from that, things are going great!
