Pre-bedtime activities affecting DILD.

I've been rather curious about a few things pertaining to DILDing. So this is the big question.
Are there certain things you can do before sleep (other than the well known, I'm thinking more outside the box) that can increase your dreaming (lucid or otherwise) experience?
I will try a different technique every week. Daily updates with weekly conclusions as well as a hypothesis for the next trial.
I would love any help possible, just comment below and/or message me to discuss.
If not, I am fairly certain I can accomplish this on my own.

This week I will be tying a perfumed ribbon on my wrist before falling asleep.

Interesting, I think some things might be dependent on the meaning of such objects. For example, you could pick an object that represents lucid dreaming for you (lucidity symbol) or use actual physical actions (such as certain type of relaxation or exercises before bed). Relaxing and trying to feel/experience through all your aches, pains and lingering emotions seems to be helping me immensely as of late.

Something interesting to try out would be, what sleeping position is best for recall?

Yes, I agree that would be something worth looking into.
Another thing I've been thinking about, even though it seems quite trivial, is if wearing socks to bed affects you. My logic there is that your body(namely you mind) works better at cooler temperatures, and since the feet are a major heat release zone, if that would affect dreaming in any way.

I'm going to say wearing socks does not affect dreaming or lucid dreams. I wear socks to bed, dream, wake up and take them off (because my feet are hot), go back to sleep and dream again, not wearing socks anymore..

I'm gonna try sleeping with my Reality Check Die in my hand, see if that triggers anything if I feel it when I'm dreaming..

Day 1, perfumed ribbon

Last night I sprayed a silk ribbon with some cheap aeropostal perfume. I tied it to my wrist then when to sleep.
My iPad has an app on it that senses your movements on the bed and from that can tell what stage of sleep you're in, then makes a graph for you based on the data. (I'm not quite sure how accurate it is)

But interestingly enough, I went from having 7 dreams from 2 nights ago(once again, not sure on the credibility) down to 3 dream last night.

Also, I always dream in 1st person. Last night, I had a 3rd person narrative dream (other ones I couldn't remember)

So decrease in dreams, 3rd person narrative. Coincidence? I'll find out with more trials.

Funny you should say that! I sleep with music on lately (an external sensation, like the scented ribbon) and I started dreaming in 3rd person narrative too! Although I still have dreams in 1st person too. Usually I'll have a main dream, then a separate story within that dream that is 3rd person, and then main dream again. Example: In a dream I was in a hotel room, put a DVD on and watched that story, then turned the DVD off and went on to doing something else. The story on the DVD was really detailed and I remember pretty much every event in it.

I never used to dream in 3rd person, or hardly ever. Now it happens all the time. Interesting!
