      Collective WILD Experience Project

WILDs have been bugging me on and off for about a year, to me what makes them so difficult is there is no easy way of putting one technique to one person, which led to me making this thread. I think if I manage to get enough WILD experiences I can then learn to pinpoint which techniques/experiences are most helpful for certain people.

So I'm going to try and attempt a WILD every night and get my experience down every time, yeah you're going to see how much I suck at them -.-.

And I'd like as many people to do so too, you don't need to attempt frequently, but the more content the better and we will see how it goes.

e.g "I got up at 6.30am for WBTB, about 15 minutes after laying down (on my back) I experienced wave like vibrations up my body...." In as much detail as possible.
Similar to a 90 day post, but focused on finding out what works rather than just progress based.

Just post below experiences and I will look for trends to learn from at a later date.

The only times I have been able to successfully WILD or get to SP, is when I wake up naturally, or take a nap. Generally for me when I wake up naturally I just end up going into SP.

      My WILD on Saturday

I went to bed at around 11:30, and I woke up at 10 AM. I went to the bathroom, and turned around and layed down in my bed. I started daydreaming in my bed, and about 20 minutes later my attention switched back to my body. I noticed how numb i was, and within a few seconds I could feel strong Vibrations kick in. I waited for them to pass and then I stood up and Reality checked and was in a dream.

College night so I set my alarm for 4.5 hours after bed.
Got up at 6.00am but I think I fell asleep until 7.00 (I did attempt).
Attempted again at 7, felt vibrations after about 5 minutes but not intense at all and was only for a short period.
Waited for about 30 mins for them to come back but no luck so I tried rolling my eyes back into my head, vibrations instantly comeback but my eyes begin to flicker very fast. Waiting for the vibrations to get stronger I then open my eyes but I'm not dreaming :/
I think it's because I fell asleep on my original attempt.

Well I didn't plan on participating, but I woke up in the middle of the night last night to use the bathroom, so I decided WILD. Then just decided to post it here.

About 4:30 when I woke up (I went to sleep about 11pm)

I layed there for who-knows-how-long. Then I felt like somebody blew a puff of cold air on my cheek. It surprised me, but luckily I didn't open my eyes. Shortly after, I think I was in SP, not sure, but then I felt mild vibrations at my toes that gradually got stronger as they went all across my body. A moment or two later, my eyes were stil closed but I felt like I could move my body a whole lot easier. By habbit, I did the nose pinch RC and found I could breathe, I opened my eyes and found I wasn't in my room. After yhe FA, I went had a lil fun in the dream.

      ^__^

Hope this is something like what you were looking for. :/ I'm not too much into WILDing so I'm not sure.

Set my alarm for 6.30am, 6 hours after sleep. Fell asleep again without realising -.-
Really going to try and stay awake tonight
Cheers OwO for posting, that sounds awesome, hope you had a good LD - keep posting more experiences.

      My last wild.
I balance out the sleepyness with wakefulness in such a way that im almost in a trance and start having vivid daydreams, then all of a sudden i feel whooshing sounds like turbulence and disorentation i know im in sp, so i start trying to move my legs, once i am able to move them i reality check and confirm im in the dream world.

My alarm wakes me at 5:30, I'm groggy, probably got woken in the middle of a non-REM cycle. I switch off the alarm and lie back down, then remember my intention to WILD, switch on the bedside lamp for two seconds then lie down again and start doing my modified form of the 61-point relaxation technique (basically simpler with fewer points ). I then start counting breaths and get to about 30 before I start losing count, and then forget why I was counting in the first place, I then direct my awareness to my forehead. After this I slip in and out of awareness experiencing fleeting hypnagogic images that are instantly forgotten for about 20-30 minutes. After a while I suddenly have an experience of my awareness snapping back into focus and I feel mild buzzing/vibrating sensations in my head/brain and the ear that's resting on the pillow, my body feels slightly paralysed but my heart is beating uncomfortably fast and my breathing feels restricted, I feel myself come out of my relaxed state and RC, but I'm awake. I then fall asleep normally.

Just a first note, I never had a successful WILD yet.

I went to bed at 0:45 and I think I stayed awake for at least 1,5 hours, it took me long to really get sleepy. At some point I came to randomly think about TF2 and just a minute later I had vivid visual hypnagogia about me running through the third part of pipeline following some medics and heavies, and seeing a bunch of huge boulders at the small river, and when I saw a medic where I should've seen a heavy I noticed I was just hallucinating. I got an intense rush of an odd feeling but didn't make the transition. As for that feeling... if I were to try and describe it I'd say it constricted my whole body and felt a bit like a warm tingling sensation but without any real numbness.
But at least I'm now 100% positive I fall asleep without going to SP, it happens simultaneously to my dream forming. And my dreams seem to start forming when I have random thoughts, lose awareness and my thoughts go haywire.

Not a WILD but an experiment with the hypnagogic state; 6:00, afternoon, I was drifting through various hypnagogic imagery, at one point I was barely conscious and had a hypnagogic 'micro-dream' of turning a tap. To my shock I snapped back to awareness as I had actually twisted my hand as if I had turned the tap for real.

Woke up at 7.10am naturally and attempted the WILD on my side, I reckon I was pretty close but fell asleep until 11am!

This night I went to bed and took an normal amount of time to fall asleep (30min) and everything was normal, didn't try any WILDing either. But I constantly woke up for short periods of time and recall most of them. During that time was one special awakening, I woke up with a completely numb body. Not SP though since I could still move freely but I guess in a way that's a step forward, I achieved minor variants of that feeling when lying for still for about an hour already but nothing close to WILDing. This time I still think I was rather far away but closer than ever before. Even after moving that feeling of numbness always came back in less than 2 minutes. And I had a dream about WILDing the very same night.

I have a thoery what happens. If I will be able to really enter SP for my first time during the next weeks or months I might be onto something, but it seems like I'll have to keep living and dreaming patiently to find out.

I keep getting to the point where I'm drifting from my body in my bed to hypnagogic dream scenes but I can't take that last step and enter a dream.

YAY! I had another one last night ^__^
I fell outa bed so decided to turn it into a wbtb, here's my experience~
I fell asleep flat on my back, with my hands making a loose triangle on my stomach. In approximately 3 minutes, it felt like some one put a heavy, warm cloth over my head and the black behind my eyes got a little darker. I felt slight vibrations, then I lost feeling in my arms. Shortly after, I started hearing a music box playing, very slow and lazy-like. Then I felt like some one took a wet cotton ball and placed it in my palm, and water was dripping down my wrist.
I don't know what made me do it, but I sat up, and I was in my room in New Mexico~not Kansas~ so I automatically did an RC and tada! I was lucid. ^__^

It's so weird... here are some conclusions I'm making.
I felt slight vibrations, then I lost feeling in my arms. >>>>> Shortly after, I started hearing a music box playing, very slow and lazy-like
Most people struggle moving from left to right.
I keep getting to the point where I'm drifting from my body in my bed to hypnagogic dream scenes but I can't take that last step and enter a dream.
I think your too actively thinking, your like me! Try using an anchor (really basic) like the feeling of the bed on your body and focus lightly on that, but nothing too much or you won't transition.
And I had a dream about WILDing the very same night.
All this talk about WILDs inside WILDs made me try a WILD in a dream -.-

I try so hard not to try! But honestly I used to want sleep paralysis/transition so much I'd be almost physically tensing up, I'm a lot more chilled now. Thanks for the advice about using a subtle anchor!

All this talk about WILDs inside WILDs made me try a WILD in a dream -.-
Those are half awesome/half annoying, awesome because I usually end up with a full-fledged lucid dream, annoying because I think I'm an epic WILDer till I wake up >_<

Very strange experience last night. So I WBTB at 5:00am and do the 61 point relaxation technique and then focus on my brow/forehead. After a while of feeling like I'm getting nowhere I suddenly blackout. I regain consciousness and I'm still lying in bed, for some reason I start thinking about the feeling of nose-pinch RCing, as I do this I get a feeling of rising pressure in my head and ringing in my ears, the next thing I know I seem to be in full sleep paralysis with distorted, fluttering noises/vibrations going through my head and ears. After these sub-side I RC and I'm dreaming, but I still can't move! I decide to try rolling out of body as I've never done that before when I'm stuck in bed in a dream After a queasy first try where I worry about literally falling out of bed IRL I succeed, but despite my efforts to stabilise the dream breaks down. I stay still and wait for sleep paralysis again. When I come through the other side I'm in a beautifully rendered minecraft tunnel, I go on to have a semi-lucid dream set in the Minecraft world.

But here's the thing, I don't believe that any of that sleep paralysis was real, I think I WILDed from a dream and then DEILDed from an FA. At no point did I feel in total control and the sudden thought of the feeling of reality checking came out of nowhere, the whole sleep paralysis and transition felt unconvincing and more like when I WILD from a non-lucid dream.

My mind feels so broken right now D:

I keep getting to the point where I'm drifting from my body in my bed to hypnagogic dream scenes but I can't take that last step and enter a dream.
I think your too actively thinking, your like me! Try using an anchor (really basic) like the feeling of the bed on your body and focus lightly on that, but nothing too much or you won't transition.
I just read this. On my first WILD attempt, I noticed that me trying to silence my mind was causing an instinctive flood of even more thoughts to come in. And just focusing on one thing was keeping me awake. What I do is I just imagine ocean waves moving back and forth, and I let my thoughts move around freely. But not like normal, they're much quieter and none of them stick, just in and out, and I just feel as if my thoughts flatten and spread out, few and far between.

This may or may not make sense, but oh well ^__^

In the middle of the night (or more like my sleep phase actually, it was already bright) today I just might've had my first unplanned WILD, though I can't count it for losing lucidity immediately but here goes what happened.

I was having an totally different sleep the night, I was waking up about each hour, staying awake for some few minutes and then falling back asleep. I had a huge load of pretty detailed dreams which I'll post somewhere else later. At some point after I lost awareness I randomly regained it while hearing an really loud high-pitched sound and due to seeing the inside of my eyelids and feeling my body in the position I was actually laying in I immediately assumed being close to WILDing and so I just went along with it and tried staying calm, the sound changed volume a few times but then kept getting louder, as well as feeling my legs and arms stretch out without actually moving them. At some point I randomly opened my eyes and think I failed even though I was looking down from a motorcycle which I surely didn't fell asleep on. Then I saw a camera team walking around behind me in a rearview mirror on a car close to me and was already fully immersed in the dream, totally and absolutely forgetting the fact I actually WILDed into this dream.

It might've been a dream as well but I dare to doubt it. Either way I guess that means I'm finally coming closer to WILDing, especially since this time there wasn't this feeling of unpleasant heat I otherwise ALWAYS get when trying to WILD. Anyone experienced something similar?

(The title may be weird, but there wasn't anything graphic in words at least...just for those who wanted to see how Dream #5 felt for me).

      Dream #5.

I wasn't sure if I was WILDING or DEILDING, because I knew the DILD I had before was fading away, so I probably had my eyes open before closing them again (it was so fast that it was most likely a WILD). But I did a WBTB before experiencing the DILD.

But I did see images flash really fast, and once I felt the sensation of being pulled into a yellow wormhole, my dream eyes automatically opened. I still questioned if I was dreaming or not, but doing a nose plug RC helped. It was short though since I encountered a problem deactivating an alarm.

I still felt kind of hazy, but the dream immediately become vivid to me, I almost felt confused of how accurate it was compared to waking life. Compared to my non-lucids, in my lucid dreams, it seems my mind just presents things to me instead of having them being sporadic like the non-lucids I have.

I feel a sense of loneliness, but not in a bad way, the WILDs that I've done have always been me being very calm and collected...

And in the same WILD I did, I hear music playing as well. More details on Dream 5.
