      Exclamation Theory of collective dreaming+experiment

For all of you who do not know collective dreaming I want you to go read some articles on it and get a good idea of what it is before continuing reading this thread. For all of you who do know what this is, great we can get started then. I have always known of collective dreaming and heard people talk about it but, never really thought about to much until last night. I had a absolutely amazing shared dream. It went like this:[COLOR="blue"] I was in my universities commons talking in a big group of people talking about the latest scores in football and who's any good and who's terrible. That's not important though what happened next changed my whole view on dreaming. This girl I attend college with approached me and she looked as if she had just seen a ghost. I asked her "What's wrong?" without a definite reply she said " I...am...dreaming". It took a couple of seconds for it to kick it but I too then realized i was dreaming. I then just though alright just another lucid dream. I was just going to fly away and leave but something was telling me i had to answer her. So all i said was " You're not dreaming, you're just a DC in my dream". She just shook her head and said " No this is my dream and i am in full control, it's the weirdest thing I have complete control". My first reaction was that a DC in any of my dreams never was that fluent. I could have just flown away at this point, and i really wanted to but something was telling me I had to talk to her. So i said "Prove it". She started spinning and started changing the dream scape to a downtown area. I tried to stop it from happening. I just couldn't. I was stunned i was completely out of control all I could do was move my limbs. She was in control. It then hit me this is her dream and I have no control at all. I tried every wake up technique but none off them worked i was trapped. She then started to seem panicked and everything started to become blurry and black. I then yelled to her quickly " Remember the keyword i am about to tell you OK? Cheese". She nodded back in response and the dream faded and I was soon up on the phone with her. We had both woke up at the same time had the same exact dream and she knew the dream keyword. I was just stunned.[COLOR] This leads me to believe that collective dreaming is very possible and its powers may be able to be harnessed. I have shown to you that collective dreaming is very possible. Believe my story or not look at the hundreds of other collective dreams all over the internet. I propose that the DV community perform a experiment. I want to perform a experiment to prove this theory just don't know how yet. I need everyone to collaborate and then come up with a logical experiment that can test this. So lets go get the ideas rolling!

This essentially means shared dreaming. You can't really take the anecdotes from other people and use that as adequate evidence that it's possible. You will definitely be criticized.

Though if you want to make an experiment, you can head for the Beyond Dreaming Section to set up a thread for one. I made one a few days ago, and it will be going on for 30 days, the last experiment ended up with one participant being 50% right with the password. So we're taking another stab to see if I can attempt to "share" dreams with the 3 participants.

It's not much, but we are trying to comprehend how to make the experiment better, without it going too far into being precognitive attempts.

You can join in as a control variable if you like, which is just where you attempt to synch in with my sleeping periods and ask me for the password, except I'm not set out to find the control variables. I'm CDT -5:00 and I try to sleep around 9-11 PM each night.

      Here's the thread:

I agree with Link, this is what we call shared dreaming. There's a whole part of the forum just for shared dreaming and our recent discovery of shared daydreaming. It's called the International Oneironaut Shared Dreaming Project. http://www.dreamviews.com/f144/

      Your experience is amazing!
Had she been interested in LDing before this? It seems she is very experienced in this area. Had you ever discussed the topic of LD (and possible the topic of shared dreaming) before? Does she remember anything from the dream that had happened before you asked her what was wrong? Is it consistent with your memory?

Ya you are probably right. I more or less wanted to share this experience and seeing if the community had any ideas of testing it . Thanks for the input I agree with you.

Well after i had talked to her then next day she knew everything about the dream and the keyword. I don't really talk to a lot of people about LD's and especially not her. She said she had one other dream similar to it in which she knew that she was dreaming but woke up immediately (so, a layer 1). So i guess you could say she wasn't very familiar with dreaming. So i guess in conclusion we both had the same dream at the same time. Amazing right!
