Right on; interested to see the results. I have recently replaced coffee with tea in my diet and though I've found it easier getting to sleep at night, I haven't experienced any notable changes in my dreams.
i quit drinking coffee for about a week, and i didnt notice much either
I used to drink at least 3 cups of coffee per day, but over the last week I've been drinking only one in the morning. I haven't had any lucids, but my recall has been noticeably better since I started drinking it less.
But I've also been paying more attention to my dreams and to keeping up my DJ since around the same time I started consuming less caffeine, so there may not be a cause-effect relationship. But it's something to consider.
You're probably going to have to quit for longer than a week to notice any significant changes, but you should include some more information for the sake of research if you keep trying. Like, how much coffee were you drinking normally? That would have a pretty large impact.
I don't think I've stopped drinking coffee for about five years straight... <_<; This is something I've wondered, too. Not just for dreams but in day to day waking like as well.
I used to be a coffee addict, but have cut down to one or two cups a day. I noticed that I no longer have brain fog like I used. I used to have the kind of awareness level in waking life as one sometimes gets in non-lucid dreams, that's how bad it had gotten. I am still not willing to forgo it completely, but I hope to never go to more than two cups a day again.
