Cool How does Marijuana affect your dreaming?

Do you find more difficulty when you smoke more or the more recent you smoke? Do you reach a point where lucids are no longer possible? Tell me about how weed hinders or helps you(Doesn't really matter I just want to know how it affects you period). Do different strains produce different results? Post your experiences with Marijuana and Lucid Dreaming below.

Marijuana can completely stop you from dreaming, when you use it during that day, or night.

I think it depends on the person Ive had some vivid dreams when I smoke the day of or even that night. My dream recall is already good so I think it depends on how good your recall is , Ive read that it suppresses your rem cycle, but I haven't had a lucid on miss Mary , but I have been ok on the recall part.

On a sidenote Ive read some threads where more advance users have had LD and smoked previously.

I expect dream recall could be an issue. (PS. I too live in CO).

While I am going through a dry spell right now, when I was at my peak of dream recall I was smoking 4-5 grams a day.

Some people say they can't remember a dream when they smoke, but as others have said, it comes down to the person. I would remember 3 dreams a night in great detail wwhen I was smoking an eigth+ a day

I've started practicing again about two weeks ago, by now simply writting a dream journal and doing some reality checks. I can say that, from my experience, recalling my dreams at morning is MUCH more difficult if I've smoked last night. I think is harder to my mind to keep lucid enough, so my memories are just waved away as I awake.
Still, I want to try waking up about at 4 or 5 am to see what I remember then. I think best solution for me anyway is to stop smoking, at least by now, to see if my dream memory improves.

Marijuana inhibits REM sleep. Thusly, no dreams. It also lengthens the time you spend in deep sleep, meaning less time in REM sleep. If you smoke before bed and remember your dreams, it's likely you are remembering them from late-stage REM sleep, where either you're REM rebounding, or its late enough in your cycle that the THC is no longer affecting you.

Im smoking pretty heavily at this point in my life (19 years old) and pretty much for the past two to three years I have smoked every day, upwards of three to four grams. I had four lucid dreams lat night. I feel it is largely the expectation of people thinking that marijuana will inhibit the dreaming experience than that opinion actually holding true, it is instead the thought itself is that is the real problem imo, and I think my case speaks for itself. I started journaling my dreams October 2014 and I average anywhere between three to seven a night. OP, if you feel marijuana screws with your dreaming, maybe refrain from smoking it or maybe not. Its about you and what works for you and everyone is different so different factors go into that equation for individual results. Only way to know is to experiment and research for yourself.

I have read it's bad for dreaming. I myself couldn't even remember a dream if smoking.

Maybe it is because you are used to it so you can do both of the things.
Or as you said, you need to figure out what works for you.

Getting back into dreamwork was one of my main reasons for quitting pot... and one of the best things about quitting. My recall is rather sensitive and has historically been mediocre. I am one of those people who is definitely affected negatively.

I cutback and only partake at night. Not only does it make smoking more enjoyable, but I think it would make your recall better. I barely dreamed at all when I toked every day all day. Since only toking at night for a while, I have been able to have dreams again. Just my experience, but everyone is different, and I am no expert by any means.
