      Academic survey about lucid dreaming

      Hi,

I am a student from the Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. I am writing my master thesis about lucid dreaming. Therefor I created an online survey to investigate what factors may contribute to lucid experiences.

I would be delighted if you would like to participate and help me (and science) for a better understanding of lucid dreaming.

Due to methodological issues, I am only looking for participants who

-never received a diagnose of a sleeping disorder, psychiatric disorder or neurological disorder
-can recall three dreams per week or more (no matter if lucid or not)

At the beginning of the survey, I will ask you about these criteria. Please do not feel bad, if you cannot participate because of these reasons.

The survey will take about 10-20 minutes, and you will have the chance to win one out of three 20$ Amazon vouchers (or equivalent to your currency) if you completed it.

Thank you very much for your interest and participation!

      Kind regards,
      Stephan

Interesting. can you explain why you are excluding these groups? For instance, I suffer from seasonal depression and take meds for it about 4 out of 12 months. How would this invalidate any results? I am truly not offended, but being a scientist myself am honestly interested in why this exclusion criteria is there.

Hey sivason, sorry for my late answer. This is indeed a very strict criterium and maybe a bit too overgeneralizing. I just hope to reduce outliers by this.

Is the outlier reduction because maybe mental illness would have a higher rate of liars who make stuff up?

Mostly because psychic illness often comes with sleeping issues. Idk if there are more liars, I would say only in specific groups of mental illnesses not in general.
And trouble with sleeping would of course bring a lot of variance. But again, to exclude all people with some diagnose of cause is a very broad category...
