Entering LUCIDS while emersed in GANZFELD

I'm starting a mini research project (anyone can join) using Wilds and sort of "Ganzfeld" ("total field" experiment uses audio and visual sensory deprivation) effects. The only difference is we are not testing ESP.

I'm trying to use the Ganzfeld visual to enter a lucid via WILD. I'm using a LUMA10 machine that produces this effects with the LightWeave technology but you can create your own with Googles and some blue construction paper. You can also cut a ping pong ball and place them over your eyes (or build a mask). The idea is to have no light from the outside and you can wear headphones to silence/ or CD music / pink noise.

The idea is to concentrate on the field your are looking at. You can keep your eyes open until your tired but remember the view because when you close your eyes you still want to imagine that field. Once you enter a dream and are seeing the same field or view; you should realize you have entered the dream world instantly. I have a feeling although if you close your eyes and do not picture the visual or image from the Ganzfeld you will simply fall asleep. I'll be posting my finding throught the weeks; if anyone does any attempts please post them here. Anyone who is good at doing WILDS should have it the easiest.

Really lousy first night. I woke up around 2 to start my initial test. This wasnt a good night, I had some heartburn going on, I was hungry and I wasnt sleepy enough to fall under. On top of all this due to the program I will have to enter REM within and hour. I did find the correct frequency to produce the "Wall of Light", it's in the Gamma frequencies which is good for sleep anyway (it will not amp me up). I didnt use headphones this time but probably will for future test, we will see.

I also started to think, even if I dont immediately dream/project into a bright room, I should be telling myself to do reality checks throught the day when I'm in bright rooms. I'll have to look at my guide or consult to see if I can extend the programs.

I plan to work on some more Ganzfeld training this weekend. During the week with the baby sick and all it's really hard. Not having to worry about going to work; I can feel at ease when trying to enter the dreams and not so rushed!

During the late morning I was doing a session, not to fall asleep or enter a dream but too just see what kind of visual imagery the mind machine would produce. I was doing the Ganzfeld patterns and started paying attention to what images my mind tried rationalize on what it was seeing. One image in particular was an image of girls sitting a club the lights where flashing very rapidly. I thought it was interesting how the mind starts to produce and create images based on what it's seeing. This is a known fact with dreams that are induced by Nova Dreamer.

I tried at 3AM to enter a lucid from Ganzfeld. I was using 3-7 htz and light goggles. Next time I plan to use earbuds because I was wearing full size headphones and they were not comfortable. During the process I felt relaxed but didnt see any HIs. Next time I'm going to try a longer session and at the beginning of the night.

After the failed session I got up, took some B6, ate a bananna drank some water. I went back to bed, I wasnt sure if it were the light goggle patterns still in my eyes or memory but before I fell asleep I had amazing HI's of the jungle. They were clear as day; I even heard Locuts but it was just the humming of my fan!

In the late morning my lucid file alarm clock triggerd a lucid. Not sure if the session helped but in the dream, I was wearing the goggles, which I found interesting.

Last night Sunday 28th, I continued my research on entering lucid using Light and Sound / Ganzfeld effects. First let me explain why I used the frequency that I did which is going to seem wierd. First note I'm using the Luma 10 AVS, which uses the patented Lightweave Technology. What does that mean? It means the lights never completely flash off like a typical light and sound machine. It provides smoother transitions and very interesting patterns. With that being said, I used the GAMMA range which was anywhere from 32-42htz. This produces the solid wall of light that you would expect to see in wearing Ganzfeld ping pong ball 1/2s. Although you're probably thinking 32-42htz isnt very relaxing, that would be used to energize you not relax you. Well that didnt seem to matter. I started experiencing deep relaxation, along with HI's, dream imagery etc. Although I didnt enter a lucid (which is the whole point) my mind started to disregard the light and started to produce dream imagery although they were not full dreams. I think the challenge will be able to WILD directly into a Lucid although I don't know if that's possible at the beginning of the night. I've entered lucids directly but usually not the first REM Period. I'll probably keep the testing for the weekend although I had to say last night was a step closer.

Last night I tried to enter Lucid while just listening to Low THETA 5-8HTZ (binural) (no goggles) with a carrier sine wave (x2) around 50-60 htz. I also had some pink noises. I had it pumping through a good system (studio monitors - 200 watts peak) & 100 watt amp. It was such a low frequency it was like a TAO's HUM going through the whole house. I was kinda nervous the sub bass frequencies was going to awake everyone in the house but apparently it didnt becuase they didnt say anything to me this morning. So I'll continue to test, this may end up being a better daytime WILD project but we'll see. I know ZenVortex is approaching this project as daytime WILD.

Well last night showed some promising results. I had the same settings regarding the frequencies and Htz. I used a Mindfold sleep mask to block out all light. I noticed that this helped bring the HI's allot sooner. I was also very very close from entering a dream where I had left off but didnt quite make it. I have to say that entering lucids from this state has been a difficult task but last night was the closest I've come. I'll keep plugging away!

Yeah!!!!! I did it damit, holy cow! It wasnt easy of course but hey that's alright. I woke myself up around 5, used the potty, got some water, ate some cereal and went back to bed. I started using the same binural beat settings (frequencies as noted above) and wore the mindfold sleep mask to block out all light and I WILD right into a Lucid.

How do you generate the waves?? Some kind of program I can download? Because I'd like to just try, you know? Great that you found the right freq! Is that frequency something general or personal?

The isolation tank is another machine that deprives sensory input, and can cause altered states of consciousness.

I'm looking into the Schumann resonance, which is about 7.8 Hz. This is a worldwide electromagnetic resonance that occurs from electrical activity between the ionosphere and surface. It is triggered by thunderstorms and lightning, and almost certianly has a stochastic effect on human brainwaves.

In view of the fact that the Schumann resonance varies a bit, it may be a good idea to ramp around it, say +- 0.25 Hz, ie from 7.5 to 8.0.

I've been interested in Ganzfeld testing since I read about it a few months ago. I would have done some more experimenting with it, if I wasn't so damn inconsistent. Haha. But I've already got Brainwave Gen and you've just inspired me to mess with it some more. :teeth:

Thanks Oneironaut. I'm glad my research is appreciated. Lord knows it took me quite some time to complete this and say finally it was a success. There were many times I wanted to can this project due to that I wasnt succeeding but it finally paid off. And your very correct in the aspect of saying it's not consistent, damn if that isnt true. I think poeple give something a try once or twice then move on to something else. I just kept pushing and bam, done! :D

Had a success...it worked again. But warning, made some notes about using brain entrainment software and its effects.
