I currently have 2 research topics going now as a result of this one. Having been thinking about this for a long time. It needs to be included here. So I have created this thread to include everyone and note my progress. I think these are the two main subjects of reseach I will continue for a long time. I plan to work on both at a time.
While thinking about how to approach the RC research. I have had quite a few Lucid dreams. Last night I was flying higher in the sky above buildings and oceans and people. Than I think I ever have before.
Each time I have a lucid dream, I get a little more insight into what the dream is. I have been observing very carefully. The lucid dream last night included one of my typical dreams that seem to be constant theme, but I am rarely lucid in this theme. I was lucid this time, And I walked along a road to this house. I observed that everything was very realistic and just as realistic as real life. Here is not where the difference is. Every object of the dream I can tell is 'colored' a certain way and looks a certain way because of the "dreamlike substance" that creates it. Next time you are in a lucid dream, note how the atmosphere and 'matter' around you looks. I am still trying to observe the difference here, between reality atmosphere and dream atmosphere.
Dream atmosphere is a complex subject. As it can be personalized. I am beginning to see and feel that the dreams are of a much different vibration than that of real life. Real life is particually dense. When you enter a dream. The vibration is no-where near are dense. Hence the ability for your thoughts to manifest in the 'reality' around you much more easily.
Another thing to note is how easy it is to think it is not a dream, when close to the lucid state. You will oftern find yourself thinking things like. "If this was a dream" and "next time I have a lucid dream" I have found this is even a sign you are close to becoming lucid. As when completely non lucid generally you will not even think about lucid dreaming, but be emersed in the dream completely as if it were your real life in general. This is not considering the reality check research, but this is why the these two topics I am studying are connected.
Anyway, There is something which continues to convince you that it is your real life, close to this lucid state. A number of factors. To mention one of them, it seems to be the realistic nature of the dream itself. Which leads you to conclude it cannot possibly be a dream, because look how real it is. The question is, how do you not see the difference between dream atmosphere and reality atmosphere at this point? I am thinking it is because you are connected and a part of the vibration of the atmosphere, hence you do not recognize or remember in this state the reality atmosphere, because you are currently so tuned into the dream atmosphere.
The key to overcoming this I think therefore is to observe very carefully your dream atmosphere, so you can recognize it and remember the difference. Some people do this to a certain extent already. I wish to add something to this and know exackly what the nature of dreams are. They are still a mystery to me.
The first step is recognizing how to induce ld's consistently, and once lucid dream atmosphere is recognized, lucidity can be mastered. From here dream content can be mastered. And from here we are in a position to study the dream nature itself.
This is the process I plan to go through with this study. I would appreciate all the help from members of DV as I can get. I figure it will not be an overnight thing. Consistent progress is made over time as I already have made some since I started concerntrating on lucid dreaming.
For now I am leaving out in this post the subject of consiousness in relation to the subconsious. This area is for the other topic of research I am working on. This looks at how the consious mind works and 'sleeps' or 'awakens' in relation to the subconsious which is behind the dreams themself.
Since I joined the sight, I have gone from having about 1 ld per 3-4 months if that. To about
1 ld per 3-4 weeks. However sometimes I get a hit and will have about 10 of them in a row, depending on my sleep cycle. I had very little sleep for about 2 weeks. Then when I slept properly found I had a bunch of lucid dreams and normal dreams, as if to catch up. The main point here is my lucidity has been increasing steadly over time. I may get a dry spell and then a bunch of lds in a row. But looking at the big picture. The frequency of them has increased. Also my understanding of how dreams work has increased.
I look foward to hearing others perspective. As the more people who add their thoughts, the better of a general picture we all get, about how it works.
Both studies require goal outlines and a clear process we can follow to achieve results. I am yet to figure out an approach. But when an approach is defined. I will make a post in bold black writing so any readers can tell when the study started.
I will give readers a chance to respond and take in this subject area, before I continue or start the study.
