*NEW* Technique perhaps
Okay
I woke up today and just lied in my bed thinking. Then i looked at my wrist and i saw my Neal Armstrong wristband. So the idea came to me if i put it more down my arm so it gets really tight and it starts cutting off my cirulation a little bit, then it could have an effect on your dreams say you dream your arm is cut off or w/e.
Im not sure this will work due to "SP"
But i will test it

lol
Could work, although I wouldn't recomend cutting your blood circulation :!: . I posted something like this; It happend to me that while I wore turtlenecks for sleeping, I would feel the warmth in my neck and realize it in the dream, sometimes it manifested as neckeleces, and since I don't wear nothing on my neck it came handy in my dreams  . I think the Idea is for using something that makes you uncomfortable enough so that it would be with you in the dream, but no such so as it wouldn't let you sleep. Good luck, but please don't cut your blood circulation :P

OMG my arm is all purple
j/k
I didnt put it that tight. Just enough to irritate me a little
-
Yeah, I was recently sleeping on my right side, and I was talking to someone and could only hear it through my left ear.

This is a really interesting idea, I like it a lot.
It would be a good idea to keep an item that you can wear by your bed that is sensually tactile, but that you only ever put on just before going to sleep.
This could work well by doing reality checks regularly during the day where you check to see if you are wearing/ can feel the item. If you can, you're dreaming!
You could even use some long burning incense in your bedroom. Reality check to see if you can smell it all day and when you do smell it you are dreaming.
I might try this out myself. Let you know.
Happy dreaming.

I don't think you can specifiy as a new technique with the use of an old concept in a new way. For example, many techniques are that you should do things like punish yourself or reward yourself about lucid dreaming... all the types of this aren't new techniques but rather just different forms of a preexisting concept. Your technique is specified as an external reminder of your dreaming state, such as the nova dreamer. For example, some techniques are like WILD - entering into your dream state. DILD - becoming lucid in a dream through techniques like reality checking. and then you have MILD, as well as others.

Interesting, i'm interested to see how it turns out.

Ya, I dont think that cutting the circulation off to your arm is smart. You might...lose it
-
You could try finding say bigger bands and put them around you legs and arms in hope to relax faster hahaha but i wouldnt wana risk cutting my circulation off that would just lead to problems so maybe if the arm bands are not as tight it could help with say meditation or induction techniques.

Cutting off your circulation during sleep is NOT a good idea. For one, you could seriously damage your limbs. I found that external influences don't really come into my dream. The only time that happened was when the alarm on the house went off.
This is sorta like the DreamLight: where you see the light in your dream. It's not really a new technique, rather a varation on a technique that works. I would suggest maybe putting something cold, or something a bit irritating on your skin (such as pimple-drying cream, it makes my skin dry and itchy) to remind you in your dream.

The only external impulse that I recall penetrating my dreams is having a full bladder and dreaming about looking for the restrooms. But Little other external stimuli seem to affect my dreams. Anybody round here heard about Accupressure? Perhaps sleeping with accupressure bullets taped on your forehead (The ''Mind's Eye''-chacra point) could make you dream about the Mind's eye or Having a gunshot wound in your head....
I have yet to find the perfect External Sensory Impulse that would affect my Dreams.
Any thoughts?
